I give one star for my event coordinator Janelle who was absolutely fantastic to work with; however, worst experience possible the day of our wedding! Let s start with the positives. Leading up to our wedding day I had several guests calling me because they were having trouble booking rooms in the block I had reserved, or the price was inaccurate. What I found was that front desk staff were not booking them in the block, but booking them as they would any other guest ever after guests told them they needed to book in our wedding block. A simple phone call to Janelle and she had it all squared away in just a few clicks. The rooms are clean and everything is in good working condition. The breakfast is also a nice bonus.
The week before the wedding I spoke with Janelle and confirmed the shuttle times for the wedding day. We chose this hotel specifically for the complimentary shuttle service offered to and from the reception because our wedding reception was an open bar! With everything confirmed I thought for sure we wouldn t have any issues the day of the wedding. Boy was I wrong! For starters the shuttle driver tried to tell my Mom she had to wait twenty minutes to be brought back to the hotel with my two small children because it wasn t the contracted time to leave yet. Luckily, he was reasonable about it and agreed to return them to the hotel anyway considering it was already after 10pm.
Unfortunately, it was all down hill from there. On the next return trip one of my guests got sick on the shuttle. The driver was asked to pull over in an effort to avoid this situation and did not. After that, the hotel downright refused to send the shuttle back for anyone! Mind you, the entire wedding party was still at the reception! I personally called the hotel to have them send the shuttle back for us and the young lady at the front desk, Brittany, was the rudest and most unprofessional person I could have spoken with! There was absolutely no reasoning with her and she just continued to repeat that my contracted shuttle times ended at 10:45pm and that they were cleaning the shuttle and would not be sending it back for us! Our reception didn t even end until 11pm and my copy of the contract did not reflect the times that hers did! I asked to speak with a manager and she refused to let me speak with one! The owner of the reception venue finally called and pleaded with the hotel to send the shuttle back and they reluctantly agreed only for me to return to the hotel to have my family greet me at the door telling me that the hotel had the police on speed dial in case I got out of hand! Seriously! Not at all how I planned on ending my wedding night! Worst possible way to finish a perfect day I can tell you that much!
