Manager of the store Deborah on lyell ave was very rude and unprofessional. I will not be going back to this store after the experience I had yesterday with her. I made an appointment for contact/eyeglass exam showed up for my appointment was told my insurance covered the eyeglass exam but I would have to pay $49 for the contact exam when arriving, I acknowledged this and sat down to wait to see the doctor. After being done with my exam and picking out new glasses I go to check out the clerk (who was very nice) said I had a past due balance of $60 from 2015 that my insurance didn t cover for some reason. I was confused wasn t aware that I owed anything my insurance had been the same for years not sure why it wasn t covered. I explained I wasn t prepared to pay the $49+$60 so the clerk went to speak with the manager came back and said that I could pay the $49 today for my exam but I couldn t order any contacts till the past due balance of $60 was paid... so I agreed and paid the $49 then I get thinking and I m confused again cause now I have a script for contacts I can t use. I ask to speak to the manager directly. She came before even saying anything I could tell she was already not in a friendly mood. I said I don t understand how it makes sense that now I have a script for contacts I m not allowed to use the scripts were in front of me on the counter and she snatched them and said nope you don t these aren t urs I said yes they are I just paid for the visit she goes on to explain to me that I didn t what I paid was applied to my past due balance. (Which was not at all what I was told) I said to the clerk didn t we just discuss that I would pay the $49 and had to pay the $60 before I order contacts and she agree that s what we said. The manager very rudely says well she misunderstood me that s not what i said. I said well then you should ve came out to handle this with me in person just like I should ve been told from the beginning that I owed this money so I would have been prepared to pay it. Now I came here for nothing besides wasting my time. She proceeeded to tell me that I should ve known I owed this money the sent me a bill back in 2016!! She then voided my exam charge refused to give me my scripts. I feel this situation was handled completely unprofessionally. At some point BEFORE my exam I should ve been told that I needed to pay this amount. I explained I would do what I could from my end with my insurance. I just felt and feel like she treated me like a criminal trying to get the business for $60 that wasnt my intention at all. The dumbest part of it all I got a free eye exam cause she couldn t charge me for it which is $49 (the charge she voided). I ve been a customer with them since 2009 never any issues! I will not go back here I ve never been so disrespected!
