My 80 year old mother had an aortic valve replaced 15 DAYS AGO. During her stay here i have personally witnessed 1)an RN hand her a bunch of pills and leave the room (mom dropped one of her meds, but i found it) The same nurse 2)placed an object on her table and never explained how to use it. It was a breathing med to be inhaled. 3)Today, the 15th day here (our patient advocate(?) nurse what ever she is) was SUPPOSED to review her chart and meet with us. 4) i noticed a patch that look like shingles this AM, showed the nurse on duty, who spoke to a PA and this was ignored. 5) An infectious disease doctor finally showed up SIX HOURS LATER and confirmed that it is shingles....and now we are waiting on a culture (and have been for 2 days) to see if she has contracted pneumonia.I know staying here is risking more illness. Do your loved ones a favor and encourage them to go elsewhere - on an up note there are some kind and caring nurses and CNAs here, but they can only do so much without a doctor's order.
