I had a broken leg and surgeon here fixed it in one day. All the medical staff was professional, friendly and helpful, was a pleasant experience. BUT, the billing/customer service is very low. I knew my insurance company Cigna was rejecting the claim in Dec, 2018, so I called the billing department to ask them to file for appeal. They said "we haven't receive the response from Cigna, at this stage, there's nothing we can do." Now they do receive the rejection, and they STILL CAN'T DO ANYTHING. I want them to file appeal as medical provider, and the billing department told me to ask doctor's office(because "only doctors can write appeal"), the doctor's office told me to ask referral department(because "we don't deal with insurance here, referral department handles that"), the referral department told me to ask billing department(because "We don't have the bill here."). WTF?? Insurance company is rejecting claims for no reason these days, I bet they encounter this kinds of thing everyday, and there's no established SOP for filing a medical provider's appealing? I guess they are simply too kind to accept any money for the service they provided because I'm not able to pay the bill on my own and the only way to get it paid is through my insurance.
