This is a well presented resort in a beautiful setting. It s quite large but not overwhelming. There are two restaurants and the food is of a good but not great standard. Rooms are comfortable but finished in very dark wood which gives a rather gloomy feel, even when the sun is shining quite brightly outside. There was no practical seating outside (for our room anyway) so this meant there was no private area where we were able to sit and relax
The hotel has some houseboats that you can stay in overnight on a tour of the lake. This is interesting and a very comfortable way to see a bit of the lake and some of the backwaters. Meals are provided and the boat moors when you are eating and sleeping. You arrive back at the hotel in time for breakfast. The downside to this is that you have to check out of your room in the hotel while you re on the boat, store your luggage and then check back into another room when it becomes available after your return. Unless there are empty rooms, this is likely to mean waiting to move into your new room until early afternoon, quite a long wait with your bags after breakfast. Then of course you have to unpack again. This undoubtedly takes the shine off the houseboat experience.
Overall a nice break for a few days with friendly staff in a beautiful setting but one or two drawbacks, especially around the houseboat tours
