After countless Internet searches on the perfect car, endless YouTube videos on potential makes and models from every manufacturer, and hours and hours of flipping thru Car Dealership websites I landed on the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback EX L NAV with Honda Sensing as the right fit for me. First step complete. I then soon realized that right around the corner from my work was a Burns Honda dealership that had the exact model I was interested in down to every last option I was looking for. A few days later I came into Burns unannounced after work off the street with no appointment and I was greeted by the front desk with a smile and then quickly aligned within seconds with what would soon become 'My Guy' for all things Honda. Now 'My Guy' has a name - Brian Young and he deserves to be called out for the great consultative approach he provided on my new car buying experience as I was new to the Honda brand coming off a Toyota Prius. Brian understood that I was really focused in on a single vehicle and he affirmed the decision I arrived on from the outset, and you could tell Brian gets pumped up about this car in particular and how it feels to drive it. Soon after a walk around of the car, I knew that Brian was a student of Honda, he really gave me the lesson of this particular car and all the amazing features, and there are a ton of features. We sat in the car and talked about it for a good 15 minutes, pairing the phone, going through all the next gen features. Brian walked me through what he knew from his personal car about the features in common and how he used them in real life in everyday situations. We then took it for a drive and I knew from that point this was my car, we just needed to come to that mutual agreement of terms and that is where I felt that Brian was also excellent with his approach, as this can potentially be a contentious dance between a dealer and potential buyer if handled incorrectly. I can imagine that people can walk away with a new car, but feel as though they were 'had' in some respect, uncertain. I didn't get that feeling at all as we went through the process and got into the details. We quickly moved to an agreement of terms on the purchase price that I felt was very good ground for both myself and Burns. After the process was complete and the financing in place, car detailed, insurance, etc... the dealership had closed due to my late arrival! Everyone was great and I never felt rushed as we worked toward getting me in my new car and on my way after hours. After it was all said and done Brian stood after in the lot with me in the car and we then went through every single setting and menu in that car as Brian wanted to make sure this was setup for me the right way. Brian would ask me a question about the setting, give his perspective and then we would decide how it would best be set for me. He knew that the chances were good if not setup then, I could be driving away and risking a behavior I didn't expect from the car and he didn't want that. Overall I couldn't have asked for more, I know my car inside and out because of Brian, I am a walking billboard for Honda and Burns, and people love my car and when I get asked where I bought it. I give my best elevator pitch for Brian, and tell them I have "A Guy" at Burns. Cause I do. On the nuts and bolts side of the equation, Honda quality shines in the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback. The amazing handling and feel to the ride are top notch, and you just cant beat the amount of technology and safety in the car, its head and heels above in my opinion at the price point. And I have the confidence that this quality and feel are there for the long haul, these aren't just some token of the first 30,000 miles, this car is put together for the long haul. Its a Honda, they run forever, everyone knows it. Kudos to Brian Young, Burns, and Honda on a great experience!
