Uber is a great concept but maintains an extreme lack of internal support, integrity, and compassion for their drivers. They informed me to re upload my inspection form that THEY provided me multiple times because they could not figure out why it could not get approved. Knowing full well that if i uploaded the same document multiple times they would deactivate my account. So now here i am a 5 star rated driver who has helped a number of new drivers get on the road with a deactivated account because i simply followed the direction of the support staff. My own personal mistake as i should have trusted my gut when i called in multiple times and felt like i was dealing with a child who just gives you the answers you want to hear so that they don t get in trouble. But i wanted to post this review because of the principle of it all. Uber provided me with a basic elementary inspection form that i paid a mechanic to complete (i passed as my vehicle is brand new) and then uploaded it. Their team of specialists (yeah more like a scapegoat for you not having any answers) could not approve the form for reasons that not even Uber could communicate to me. The only answer they could give was to re upload the file. If you do this three times and it fails your account gets deactivated. Seems like a stupid rule? Why would they not simply call or message you and tell you why it failed so you know how to correct it? Well i listened to Uber s instruction and uploaded the same file 3 times. Account was deactivated and so i asked to speak to a supervisor who was not available and would call me back. Now its clear why you have no answers. Why would you?! Your boss is nowhere to be found! I doubt i will ever get a call back but if a few people read this and get a bad taste in their mouth for Uber i will be happy. But all i really want is an apology and for somebody to simply say oh this is why it was rejected, can you fix this for us? My account should be reactivated and we can simply move on from this. But i fear that this will not happen and i worry how many other drivers are effected by similar issues. The lack of integrity is staggering to me. But they will get a wake up call when the competition out there actually takes care of their drivers. I also drive for lyft and i will continue to do so gladly. I just hope Uber will man up and take responsibility so that they can earn back my respect. I admire the concept but it is clearly mismanaged and needs to clean house so they can have a staff who can provide answers and real support for their drivers. UPDATE: called back in and spoke to a supervisor who still had no answers. Told her that if they actually listened to the calls they claim to record she could find that one of their employees told me to upload this document multiple times and she said yes thats true and now you are permanently deactivated. Asked her if she felt that was flawed and if she felt uber had a lot of issues to work out and she agreed. I apologized that she had to work there and ended the conversation. Then i read this morning that they just fired 400 people! Mismanaged! Whos going to buy this company!?
