This is my daughter's second time here...The first...

This is my daughter's second time here...The first time she was here the staff was a bit of a bully...I do know that patients has rights and one is to refuse anything..One nurse flat out said my daughter had no choice...That's when I step in...She has choices and a nurse or doctor can't force anything upon any patient...They kept her in a room with sliding doors and a curtain..Mind you my daughter is very young and likes her privacy but even after I put a note on door to close after leaving, they still left it open..It was suppose to be a quiet area but the chitter chatter was much...The nurses for some reason think that not wearing gloves is ok...Makes me wonder how they became nurses in the first place...Some would get upset when my daughter asked them to put gloves on...Now today my daughter had surgery which was supposed to have been yesterday..Npo after midnight and went down to have surgery around 4:30pm...She had to wait all day and now she's out of surgery and it's 11:00pm...Still in O.R. recovery and not in a room...24hrs and no food...It's seems doctor put her off till last to accommodate others (better insurance ) Tuesday she had a procedure done where fluid is drained from around her heart and this doctor actually did something to her heart that could of caused her to bleed out and he didn't explain this to her...She has had this done many times before without any complications...Another student doctor trying to explain to me that it's normal with all the times she's had it done..Ummmm, No!!!! They make excuses for one another and expect us to agree...That doctor fouled up on my child and he owes her an explanation...!!!! Why and how???? She is supposed to know what was done to her and not treated like she's a test object.By no means am I ungrateful...Vanderbilt did save her life and I will forever be thankful..Just need better communication and nurses who follow the rules....And doctors need to know that my daughter is important whether she has the best insurance or not..She is my everything and deserves to be treated as if she was one of their own.....Train these nurses on a regular-basis about gloves and infections..It's not ok to touch my child with your bare hands and definitely not ok to put gloves on and touch every single thing in the room..Not ok to put gloves on outside of her room and then come to touch on her...Not ok to touch her medicine with bare hands....This is in all hospitals we have experienced this...Tennova Regional in jackson tn and tri -star centennial in nashville....Let's not leave out old nasty Jackson General in jackson tn....Patients need an (advocate), not the old social worker in hospital that you see only once and they do nothing...A real person to fight for our patients in hospitals that's being treated improperly by staff...
