The National Gallery is a great museum. It has pictures from just before Renaissance to just after 1900. It is free so you can visit it again and again. I have enjoyed on a number of occasions and highly recommend the free, 1hour afternoon guided yours (when someone very knowledgeable speaks on about 5 pictures). Best time to visit is Friday evening.
