Review of Vintage Hotels

Im writing this review more because I'm surprised to have the experience my wife and I had with a Vintage property.We have stayed at numerous hotels in the Vintage Group in Niagara(Pillar and Post/Queens Landing /Moffatt)so we assumed staying at the Millcroft Inn would be the same experience and with a $280.00 a night price tag we felt there would be no concerns.We arrived to check in on a Saturday night at 8pm and were surprised to see no one at the front desk we waited for close to 10 minutes for someone to help us, I went to the restaurant which was in plain sight of the front desk and the gentleman waiting to seat people at the restaurant made no effort to tend to our needs until I addressed my concerns to him.The gentleman was polite and explained to us that the computer system had changed and he couldnt check us in through the computer even with me showing him our confirmation number on my phone .We were given our keys and parking pass and with a hand motion told where to park by the spas.The night was foggy and it was freezing rain my wife and I parked our car and made our way back to the main building and to our surprise were passed by two employees in golf carts neither employee offered to take our bags. We got to our room and the door was open, the door itself was flimsy and felt insecure.We were under the impression our room was to include a fireplace this room did not,all activity outside our door could be heard clear as if the door was open there was a gap at the bottom of the door nearing an inch from the floor to the bottom of the door. I'm very disappointed at how we were treated our accommodations and the whole experience with the Millcroft Inn.The next day I awoke very upset as I had planned this for our Valentines night away, I did not want to use any of the facilities as we had to wait for 3 hours for any of the spas/pools to open(we woke at 6 am) this clearly isn't what we expected with the Vintage Group.We will continue going to the Vintage Hotels in Niagara but we will never go back to the Millcroft Inn.
