I had one of the most uncomfortable interactions as a customer I have ever had here. I am afraid I won't be returning. I have only been to Shoprite maybe twice since moving to this area, and I decided to give it a go. At the checkout I was asked if I had a Shoprite card or number, and I replied no, since I have not really been to Shoprite much. The woman then put in I suppose what was the store discount to show me how much I could save. Now any other time at every other grocery store I've ever been to when an employee did this they were being kind and giving me the discount even though for whatever reason I did not have a store card. So, I handed the employee the money for what was shown. I was then very condescendingly told that I needed to hand over more money and asked if I had a credit card. Now don't get me wrong, I had no intention of receiving any store discounts when I entered, however when the employee put it in and the amount I owed showed as the discounted amount on the total I was confused when I was asked for more. Once I understood that regardless of the price shown I owed approximately $15 more dollars than was shown on the total, since I did not actually have a discount card I had no problem handing it over. I just really don't appreciate that the employee treated me like I was trying to leave without paying properly over what was made to be a very confusing transaction.
