The house keeping staff went into my luggage, physically, and illegally removed the firearm I had secured there. The security guy, Joseph, called the police and "escorted" me down to their little security office. The policeman who responded literally stated "This is a nice gun, if you want to sell it, here's my card. Also, there is no law being broken here" much to Joseph's dismay. I was then "escorted" to the car loop and waited for my wife to pull the car around, so I could take the firearm somewhere else. Joseph claimed there was a "No firearms" sign, but when asked to show it, he said "Over there" and gestured vaguely. Now, had I noticed these signs, or was told by any personnel, or was shown a paper to read, I would have arranged for my firearm to be stored elsewhere.

I must also mention that the gun was in a clearly marked gun case and I had the bell people deliver it to my room.

Stay away if you do not want your constitutional rights violated and the police called on you for "violating hotel policy", which in fact do not eclipse the law. Strictly speaking, you may have any amount of firearms in your personal residence, which a hotel room is considered to be. The removal of the aforementioned firearms is a violation of the law and I could have had Joseph arrested, had I just asked. I decided not to because I do not want to ruin someone's life due to their own ignorance.

I do not know about their general firearms policy, but the Grand Hyatt across the street worked with us on this issue.
