If you go to the emergency room you must be an advocate for yourself. Do not let them start a treatment unless you know that they have checked the medications you are on against the medications they want to give you. Make sure they are giving you medications for a symptom you actually have. Contraindications were ignored an a serious severe reaction was caused. Which the staff refused to treat even though they caused it. Staff refused requests for help for the reaction. Medication that was given wasn't even for a symptom that was present. Ask what each medication is, what it is for, and for side effects because you will not be given this information and they will deny responsibility. Emergency room visit directly caused us to make appointments at our PCP and go to Urgent Care to try and treat the adverse reaction.
