I was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital April ...

I was admitted to Illinois Masonic Hospital April 24 while visiting my son who lives in Chicago as I was having an appendicitis attack. I live out of the state, but experienced excellent care while a patient at Illinois Masonic. I did experience a huge concern from my visit there. I had more cash than usual with me as I had just returned from a vacation to Florida. The cash was put in a safe and secure spot by an employee at the hospital. I did not have an exact count of the cash which was not returned to me upon my discharge. I immediately called the hospital within minutes of my discharge to let them know my cash was still at the hospital. When I was asked how much cash, I estimated the amount as I did not have an exact count of the cash I had when admitted. After numerous phone calls and letters on my part, the patient relations department finally sent me a letter stating that they had documented in their records that I had $121 in cash upon admission, which was a different amount than I estimated it to be, and since the amounts weren't the same, they could and would not reimburse me. I feel this is sad, that I wasn't reimbursed my cash upon discharge, nor was I reimbursed my cash after repeated efforts on my part to do so. My cash is somewhere at the hospital or in someone 's pocket, but was never returned to me, even though there is documentation of my having cash upon admission. If this amount was documented, how simple it would be to also note that there was no documentation of me having received my cash upon discharge
. Horrible patient relations! I would advise anyone who stays there to be VERY CAREFUL AND NOT TRUST ANY ONE there. My worst experience ever as a patient at a hospital! HORRIBLE PATIENT RELATIONS!
