Beijing Daxing International Airport (IATA: PKX, ICAO: ZBAD) is located at the junction of Daxing District, Beijing, China and Langfang City, Hebei Province, 46 kilometers north of Tiananmen Square and 67 kilometers north of Beijing Capital International Airport. It is 55 kilometers from Xiong'an New Area to the south and 640 meters from Beijing Nanjiao Airport to the west. It is a 4F-class international airport, a large international hub airport, and a new source of power for national development[1].
Beijing Daxing International Airport started construction on December 26, 2014, and was named "Beijing Daxing International Airport" on September 14, 2018; on September 25, 2019, Beijing Daxing International Airport was officially opened to traffic and Beijing Nanyuan Airport was officially closed.
As of September 2019, Beijing Daxing International Airport has a terminal building with an area of 700,000 square meters; there are four runways, the east one, the north one and the west one are 60 meters wide, and the lengths are 3400 meters, 3800 meters and 3800 respectively. The West Second Runway is 3800 meters long and 45 meters wide. There are 268 seats in total, which can meet the demand of 72 million passengers, 2 million tons of cargo and mail, and 620,000 aircraft movements in 2025.
In the summer and autumn seasons of 2020, a total of 10 airlines at Beijing Daxing International Airport plan to open 328 routes and 124 cities in total. International routes will continue to be suspended. Among the base airlines, China Southern Airlines operates 177 flights a day, China United Airlines operates 130 flights a day, China Eastern Airlines operates 100 flights a day, Air China and Xiamen Airlines operate 50 flights a day, and Capital Airlines and Hebei Airlines operate 30 flights a day. In 2019, Beijing Daxing International Airport completed a total passenger throughput of 3.135074 million passengers, ranking 53rd in the country; cargo and mail throughput of 7362.3 tons, ranking 70th in the country; 21,048 aircraft take-offs and landings, ranking 88th in the country.
