Terrible customer service after they have your money...

I bought a Golf R, and traded in my TDI. The overall buying experience wasn't too painful, but overall I felt like it could have taken far less time with the negotiation. Since the sale happened on Superbowl Sunday, nobody had the ability to remove the tamper-proof screws on my old personalized license plate. The salesman Alex agreed to get the plate off the following day and make arrangements to get it to me.

Alex begged for a top notch five star review with VW's customer satisfaction survey, which I gave to him.

My mistake was giving him a great review before getting my license plate back. Suspiciously, I received a text that the license plate had been "thrown away" and asked if I had the duplicate plate Arizona provides you. I confirmed, and asked him how the dealership planned to compensate me for the missing plate. Alex thought it was acceptable for me to just use the spare plate. I told him it was suspicious that they would just throw away my old plate. He said he would get back to me. I suspect it was swiped by somebody at the dealership who was a TDI fan.

I noticed my old vehicle was up for sale the very next day after I purchased my new Golf R, and sold the day after that. Despite this, it took 15 days for my old loan to be paid off. They sold my old vehicle and hadn't even paid off my loan. During that time, I called the finance manager, left a voice message asking for status on the payoff, and NEVER received a call back.

I have followed up with Alex several times via text message asking how I could get compensation for my missing license plate, and each time he either replied he would get back to me, or it was his day off and he'd talk to his manager.

I'm very disappointed with my treatment at Larry Miller, and won't be buying another car there. Getting the runaround on compensation for a $50 missing license plate and mounting hardware is just absurd.
