We have a yearly tradition of eating at Makahiki. Whether we have a reservation or not, there is usually a wait time of 10 minutes or so.

Whether it was appetizers, entrees, or desserts, the serving trays, pans, and dishes were three-quarters to full of food. All were clearly labeled. Each station was staffed.

While there are some fusion dishes, there is also more traditional fare such as pizza and pasta.

There is also a separate kids' menu--the station is set lower, which should allow kids to serve themselves.

In the restaurant, the lighting is fine, however, out on the lanai at night, the lighting is rather low and some might have difficulty seeing.

Drink refills--water, soda, and even coffee--were prompt.

The most recent edition to the dining experience us the wandering Disney character. At the night we dined, the characters were Stitch (from Lilo & Stitch) and Chip (from Chip & Dale). They'll pose with guests for no fee.
