Welcome to the "American Style of Medicine in Switzerland", a person with basic insurance is worth nothing, today I felt like a subhuman. I registered at the Leonardo practice in Birshof for an appointment for a knee replacement, and I was immediately informed on the phone that I would only be treated for just under CHF 10,000 additional costs because an upgrade is necessary. I have had my suffering for years and the pain has been very bad lately.
