First of all, the hotel was full of dogs because Crufts was on at the NEC. This meant the hotel floor was often dirty (mud in lifts -- hopefully it was mud, anyway) and there were children & dogs running up and down corridors outside rooms, and dogs barking during the night which, let's be honest, you don't expect when you're staying in a hotel.

They got the room details wrong (booked a double, got a twin) and the room I eventually ended up in had double doors which did not close properly, so the wind whistled through the gap in the door (and made the barking of the dogs outside even louder than it should have been).

Room service was ordered, and the food came up fast and hot... but incorrect. The pizza ordered was incorrect, the person did eventually bring up the correct order, but then said he was going to take the incorrect pizza (that had been sitting in our room for 20 minutes at this stage) to another room. I advised the person not to do this, and that the guest should instead get another hot food that hadn't been in a random guest's room unattended before they got to eat it.

The room's lights were poor; spotlights shining into your face above the bed (one extremely bright bulb, one extremely dark one) and I couldn't figure out how to switch the lamps on.

Huge car park but cramped spaces and poor road surface meant getting luggage in and out of your car and to & from the hotel was not only difficult but generally unpleasant.

Won't be staying here again.
