I called Central Park Apartments at around 4pm on a Tuesday to ask if they had any 2BRs available. The person on the phone said yes and told me to apply online. I put in my $100 application fee only to get a call the next morning saying the apartment actually isn t available. When I asked if I could get a refund for my application fee, the woman said it s non-refundable. This was a system error on their part and they still tried to screw me over of $100. After arguing, the woman agreed to contact her regional director.
The following Monday, I was called saying the check would be ready by the end of Friday but to come in on the next Tuesday to pick it up (the next Monday was MLK Jr. Day). I showed up at 4:30pm on that Tuesday to pick it up and no one was in office (they are supposed to be open until 5pm every weekday). I called the next day and they said the check isn t ready but they talked to the regional director and she said it ll be ready within 30 days, but more likely 2.5 weeks. As soon as I threatened legal action, my check was suddenly ready the next business day using cash from their petty fund.
This lack of $100 caused an overdraft in my account leading to fees and late bills, resulting in even more bank fees and late fees. After all this time, the regional director promised to call me directly to apologize. She never did. I have read multiple terrible reviews about The Fourmidable Group online. Do not do business with Central Park Apartments or Fourmidable under any circumstances.
Thanks for losing me over $300 and being so unprofessional to not even call me and apologize, Fourmidable and Central Park Apartments.
