My grandma has been in the ICU for 9 days taken in for being non responsive. She had to be intubated and has since been struggling with regaining her strength to get out of here from pneumonia and a UTI. In the process of trying to recover she has developed sores in her nose and mouth from the tube and the staff not properly doing oral care. Earlier they moved her tube and she started bleeding so bad and no one came to wipe it after we asked several times. Finally my aunt was able to get a cloth and clean her up. She now has a bed sore from not being repositioned often and lack of supplies to change a urine soaked pads from leaking catheter that they were aware of from the previous day. Some of the nurses have been great but Some just seem to tired to care. My grandma is the heart of our family But here she s just another person on a bed. We re going to see tmrw about getting her transferred, it s to hard to watch her suffering not getting the basic care for her current state.
