I am never disappointed by the efficiency, friendliness and thoroughness when I bring my car in to Rahal for service. However, this time, I feel that one person went WAY ABOVE the call of duty. That person was Calvin Dutton.
After the New Car Orientation session on February 21st, I talked to Calvin about some lighting problems we were having on our new 2018 CR-V. Rather than have me explain the multiple problems, he asked me if I had the car there. I did. HERE'S WHERE HE WENT WAY BEYOND WHAT I EXPECTED. Rather than him saying, "Bring it in for service and we'll take a look at it," he said "Let's go out and take a look at it." It was cold and dark outside, yet he braved the weather. He requested taking the driver's seat and began looking at things. At least three times he said, "That's not right." He found things wrong I had not even thought about.
To cap things off, we went back inside and he said he would write up the problems so a technician would KNOW PRECISELY what was wrong using his terminology rather than the imprecise words of a customer's take on things. He put precisely what was wrong in the service write-up, scheduled an appointment the following Tuesday and even scheduled a loaner car. He even put in the service request to "Talk to Calvin" about the problems. TALK ABOUT GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND what I have come to expect from Rahal's normal high level of service.
My hat is off to Mr. Dutton for taking the time after the busy orientation session to personally look at my problem and write it up! Mr. Dutton personifies what what the word "service" means in "customer service"! He treated me as thoroughly and conscientiously as if I were Bobby Rahal himself!
By the way, I got the car back and I saw what he had put into the service request. And the multiple issues he had noted were ALL 100% RESOLVED!!!
Again, my hat is off to Mr. Dutton and the Rahal team for a job extremely well done!
