Looking for a small pickup last month to replace my 20 year old Jeep Wrangler, I contacted online sites (AutoTrader, Carvana, etc.) which directed me to a number of Ford, Toyota, and Chevy dealers. Of course, I immediately started to get phone calls that started with something like "Come on In and we'll talk...". Nonsense! This is a different world now, with COVID-19, and a myriad of online resources.
So, I politely told each contact to send me detailed descriptions of the trucks available, and I would contact them. Some complied, some didn't. Ray Chevrolet was the only one willing to engage in this exercise with me at least 4 or 5 times. I finally decided that none of the deals were good enough, until I got a substantial discount offer on one of the on-the-lot Z71's that fit my wants.
I made an appointment and was handed off to Justin Wiesenmayer. Justin is a very personable young man who immediately put me at ease, and made the whole car buying experience comfortable. As most older car buyers like me know, historically, buying a vehicle is a miserable exercise, akin to having a tooth drilled without anesthesia. But, Justin followed through on every request I had, explained details carefully, and bore the brunt of my jokes with equanimity.
This is the second car I've bought from Ray Chevrolet, and they will be first on my list next time.
