I went to a doctor at Vanderbilt because of ear pain. She told me I had an ear infection in each ear, and prescribed a very strong steroid. Two days later, I saw an ENT at Vanderbilt and he said I had ZERO infection and to stop taking the steroid. He recommended I see a dentist because perhaps my ear pain was caused by grinding my teeth? So I did. Of course, I wasn't grinding my teeth and seeing the dentist solved nothing. Now, 3 months later I still have ear problems. I am going to have my ears irrigated and hope that helps. I have always liked Vanderbilt until this happened. How can 1 doctor say I have bilateral ear infections, and 2 days later a different doctor say nothing is wrong? Also, why didn't any of the doctors recommend ear irrigation... which I hear is proven to stop the ringing and pain in my ears? I am frustrated to say the least.
