Sylvia Ackley Review of The Raven Cafe

The place was very crowded for Monday trivia; hence, and Jack was very overwhelmed as he took orders at the only cash register. I waited for my dinner date as I shared a table in the front window. Much to my sadness she did no show up. The guys left and I went to the only seat available at the bar next to the cash register. Busy busy place. I was patient while Jack assisted by Bobby the floor manager took orders for those of us seated at the long bar. I would summarize my interactions as banter. Yet, Jack's lack of hospitality was dismissive and eventually and an uncalled for rude. (Or maybe characterized as no sense of humor
When after a number of attempts for him to give me the correct pour his frustration in general over boiled. He grabbed my 2nd drink said that he was cutting me off and he was "86" ing me and to leave The Raven. WOW that was an intensive response towards a 70 year old woman/birthday girl that so pushed all of his buttons. Who knew?????
I ask to speak to Bobby so Jack ran to find him. Bobby came from behind the bar to tell me that I could not yell at his help and I would have leave as he always supports his employees. Alrighty then. Hence, the one star review and a reminder not to go on Monday night if you are not going to play trivia
To Jack, I apologize that you had no love for a little old lady. My friend's car and phone both broke down so when we do celebrate my birthday, we will NOT go on Monday night. In the day when they first opened The Raven was where I bought beer to bring to my SIL in Salt Lake City.
