Camp Lohikan was my daughter's first sleep-away camp experience. She went for two weeks in 2015, and absolutely loved the experience. The campers and staff made her feel at home, and she is eager to go back. There is a wide array of activities for the kids to do, and she didn't miss any of the normal comforts of home (TV, electronics, etc). The camp set her up with several pen pals before she went so she already had some friends on arrival, and they have continued to keep in touch afterwards.
