One of London's loveliest walks. Great any time of year. Just remember if you're travelling from abroad, big parks (and this one is BIG) in London can be muddy unless there have been 3 or 4 dry sunny days beforehand. I'd take a picnic as there's no food stands on the Heath. Go to Hampstead tube on the northern line and walk towards the park through historic suburbs full of blue plaques and history. Sadly, very sadly, the Heath itself is not easily accessible for wheelchair users or people who can't walk far. Go to Kenwood House while you're here for World class art and a nice lunch, cup of tea or even an ice cream. I'd allow at least 3 hours to visit the Heath - and if you've got kids or fancy a good trek, you could easily spend a day here. Seek out Parliament Hill for a great view of Central London. Lovely. (but AVOID if it's raining).
