This is absolutely the most incompetent organization I have ever encountered. While I am 100% on board with a public health care system, the level of laziness that the employees at the Health Connector get away with is truly staggering.
I have been receiving "overdue" notices for six months, for a payment that was "returned". Despite providing bank records proving that the payment was not returned, and spending upwards of 20 hours on the phone trying to get the Health Connector to fix its own billing mistake, I was told over and over again that it wasn't possible. After 6 months of being hassled to pay an "overdue" fee that I paid on time, I ended up paying the $40 again just to shut them up.
Be prepared for an overwhelming degree of incompetence if you deal with the Health Connector. I'm talking 11+ envelopes in the mail if you change your plan, none of which show the correct plan. On another occasion I received a termination notice because they switched my plan to MassHealth automatically with no notification or approval from me. What a hassle.
