There might be a handful of rooms without a good view of the Pacific Ocean. The staff is super friendly, and generally very helpful. One of the hotel restaurants (a cafe, really) had a great lunch plate, so we thought we'd try getting dessert there. The desserts (a pecan tart and a Macadamia nut brownie) were lackluster. Another restaurant has great sunset views and great food, but some of their dessert portions are rather small. You will also pay resort prices at that restaurant.
The lagoon out the back is too cloudy to see anything snorkeling, but is nice and calm for young kids. There's still the occasional wave, as it is directly connected to the Pacific. There is a fabulous pair of 18 and up hot tubs with a great view of the lagoon and ocean. The biggest complaint we had was that the pools all close by 8pm. We are told this changes to 10pm when tourist season is in full swing. The posted picture is from one of the aforementioned hot tubs. There are many more pools and another hot tub, as well as a lazy river. There is a tube slide (as in, you ride an inflated tube) into the lazy river and a tunnel slide into one of the pools, both of which were fun.
