Don't listen to the reviews of people who say it doesn't burn. They obviously do not know how to burn charcoal. This stuff burns quick and hot! Great for searing! It also has a very pleasant smoke flavor after cooking meats. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the last 2 bags I bought had way more rocks than usual in it. Since it sold by weight, I'm a bit frustrated in the quality control. (These weren't small rocks either) Even with that frustration, I recommend you try it. Use a chimney though. Never lighter fluid.
