The Mercure Townsville rooms are a little tired and in need of a renovation. The first room we had the bed was hard and was in need of replacing. We raised our concern with reception and they gladly changed our room the following day. The room we moved to had received some updating and was in better condition than the first but had some design flaws. The shower overflowed in to the bathroom due to the placement of the drain hole. The bed was far more comfortable than the first night. The team members at reception were friendly and willing to assist with our concerns. The pool area is nice but lacks shade. Overall I would stay here again but I would recommend booking a higher class of room. If all the rooms are renovated and mattressvs replaced I would be able recommend this hotel
