I think this pretty much sums up my recent trip to Aulani.

Dear Disney,
This email is to inform you that I am disappointed with our recent trip to Aulani. There was a hurricane threat and there was a need, understandably, to close many of the amenities including: pools, characters, childcare, and maid service. However, it is unfair that the cost of the hurricane be borne by the guests entirely. You should not charge the full amount if you do not have any of the amenities available. The service, after all, is the whole reason people go to the hotel. I pointed this out to the front desk staff, including Dayna. She made me wait a long time while she went to talk to the manager and then got back on the computer typing away, did not may eye contact, and rudely said, that no accommodations would be made and that if we did not like it we could leave . We finally had enough and were checking out of the hotel only to find a long line at the checkout counter. We went back to the room and called by 11:40am. After many minutes on the phone with Gina, she said several things: 1) threatened for us to talk to a Corporate lawyer, 2) said we were going to pay another night because it was 11:54am, and 3) said she already had our credit card on file and Dayna had already told us we needed to leave by 11am by the way, Dayna did not tell us we had to leave by 11am. Only after we resisted did she talk to the manager and agree to let us leave by 1pm. Again, I understand it was a stressful situation but the front desk did not do a good job and was not understanding. This is in juxtaposition with the entertainment crew who did a great job and kept in great spirits despite the adverse weather conditions. In sum, many of my friends are asking about my experience as I live 20 minutes away from Disneyland and why would I travel so far. And needless to say, I will not be recommending Aulani to any of them because I do not think it was fair what I was charged.

It has been more than 3 weeks and I have not heard back from Disney and I do not have high hopes that they will rectify the matter. I will repost if they contact me.
