Below is our hotel grading criteria and scores for this stay:

Amenities: 3.5 -- the pool area is nice with a large lazy river, but sadly all indoors. There is a concierge up front if you want deals to the touristy chain restaurants/activities. Much of the resort is a little outdated unfortunately.
Room: 2.5 -- beds are just double-sized, which made for a cozy (cramped) night. The hallway and foyer by the rooms had a horribly foul smell during the whole stay. Room overall was outdated and simple. The view was nice, but the small balcony isn't terribly practical.
Night Sleep: 4 -- fortunately, we were tired enough that the small beds didn't prevent us from falling/staying asleep, and the bedding was comfortable.
Value for Money: 4.5 -- we got a Groupon deal, so even with taxes/fees, it was less than $80/night.
Location/Parking: 3.5 -- being right on the beach was definitely a plus. On the downside, it's a bit of a walk from the main heart of town. Parking is in a secured garage, but is a block away, so keep that in mind if you have heavy luggage or forgot something in the car at night.
Staff : 4 -- everyone was pleasant and easy to work with. Nothing above and beyond, but no complaints whatsoever.
Overall Score: 3.67 -- though this might not be our top choice to return to, it's still q decent option for a beach stay in Myrtle Beach, especially for families or those on a bit of a budget.
