We had an incredibly frustrating experience with Diversified Home Loans. Our loan officer seemed to be on a different page than us at every stage of the process. When I reached out to confirm the time for settlement, I was told that the loan officer had no idea we were planning on settling that day, although he had been given notice several weeks in advance. We were told that it would be a day or two before we could close, and when that fell through it became by the end of the week. This pattern continued for 17 days after our settlement deadline and we ended up going with another lender because we felt we couldn t trust what our loan officer at Diversified was telling us. I would follow up with the choke-point and find out that they were at a completely different stage than what the loan officer had told me. At one point, I asked our loan officer if we had all the papers ready and we would be set to settle, and was told yes. The next morning I followed up to set up a time to go to the title company and was told that we were still waiting on one paper, although the previous evening I d been assured that we had it. Unfortunately for us, this was a pattern throughout the weeks after the original settlement date.

I know many family and friends that have had great experiences using Diversified, and they were shocked when we told them about our experience. I understand that there are hiccups that happen, but we did not have the communication we needed to be able to trust Diversified would get the job done. I hope it was a one-off (there are plenty of great reviews, and our first home was financed through them without any issues), but I m afraid we cannot recommend this company.
