YMCA Camp Fuller

Camp Fuller is my true home and everyone there is like family. There's so much to do and my friends there are some of my best friends for life. The traditions are some that you will keep in your heart for life. Being there makes me happier than being anywhere else.

I started at Camp Fuller in 1951, at 7 years old - it was all boys then. I spent 16 yrs there as a camper, and staff. It is a water based camp with every conceivable water activity imaginable. There were some land based activities at that time, but many more now. Camp Fuller has been consistently rated as one of the best sailing camps anywhere. It s a camp, not the Ritz - rustic cabins or tents, community bathrooms with stalls and showers ( similar to school, only not as fancy . In those days there was a cabin / tent cleaning time, and one group was responsible for the bathroom as well, and was checked by staff. There are no maids , so even though it is cleaned - up, it is not spic & span like a hotel, because there are wooden floors, it is clean, but not shiny clean. Bathroom floors, toilets, etc are cleaned every day - do they get messy during the day, yes, but again it s camp not a hotel. I m sure some kids get homesick, but like at school, you make many lifelong friends. It s not snobby, so with minimal effort, friends are easy to make. At 73+ years old, I still have friends I stay in contact with. Food is cafeteria style, but when you are feeding 350 people at once, it can t be gourmet - good, solid and plentiful food, not moms, but she s only cooking for 3-5 or so people. Camp Fuller by the Sea (original name) teachs kids values, sharing with others, and how to become a great person, all while having fun.

I would recommend Camp Fuller to anyone - my three daughters all went there. An experience any youngster will cherish - try it, you ll love it.

This is my favorite place wish I could go this summer but unfortunately I did not make CIT for the the second time in a row oh well maybe next summer I will be staff. But Camp Fuller may not for everyone but its a great opportunity to met new if you get the opportunity go here don't pass it up when 2015 was my first time going never will forget this place 2019 will be my last year until 2021 hopefully I will most deff come to visit this year I love you camp fuller sailing is fun arts and crafts is fun yay

Oh My God! Don't listen to Lynzi Mullen! Camp fuller is an amazing place to be and it's my home away from home! The food is great and the counselor are amazing. That was from a parents point of view! Listen to a person who actually spent the time there. The only thing that's true is that it does cost a little bit much, but it is WORTH IT! I'm going to start my 4th year in camp and I am SO excited! Kids, COME TO CAMP!

Regarding Camp Fuller - Disgusting place. Dragging young girls across the world spending a fortune of their grandparents money to get there and back and because they are young and emotional with jet lag sending them home after 3 days instead of giving them chance to settle and be the fabulous councillor they know she is as she was there last year. STAY AWAY Advice for the camp director learn how to be a leader and support and empower your councillors instead of destroying dreams!

Regarding Camp America
Don't bother it's a way to have cheap labour which you have the private of paying a fortune to give. There is no support for the young people abroad and they are treated like dirt

In two weeks I will start my seventh summer at camp. My kid brother will be starting his fourth. This place is at time not my second home, but my first. Strongly reccommend if you re looking for a place to belong. Staff feels like family. Food is surprisingly pretty good. Plenty of camper independence and some of the greatest friends I ve ever made are at camp. Traditions you can t help but come to cherish and adore. Activities and opportunities are abundant and a lot of fun. I look forward to returning soon and definitely recommend to any and everyone

It was so much fun second year, spent the whole summer would never regret it. I met kids from all over the world literally I met a kid from Sweden and kids from Spain Italy and France to name a few countries. Everyone is so nice and kind it made me a better person by the end of the summer if parents see this you should defenitly send your kids it is an experience they will never forget. They will make relationships that will never be forgotten as long as they go to camp.

Best camp ever this summer to come will be my 5th year

I spent 2 weeks there this summer and it was my first time. I had a nice warm welcoming from everyone and the counselors were so nice. My cabin mates are now some of my closest friends. I loved all the activities they provided and it gave me new opportunities to try new things. I also learned how to drop in on a half pipe to this summer at the skatepark they have on camp. I was scared but the counselors helped me through it. I will definitely be going back next year and probably for a whole month

Nothing less than 5 stars for my experience at Camp Fuller for six seasons (1959-1964); three as camper and three on sailing staff. A life changing experience. Camp Fuller was recommended to me as I had aged out of my YMCA day camp in CT and the local director knew of Camp Fuller. Its been over 50 years now and the memories are a bit vague so I just remember all the good stuff now. I trust the camp has kept its high standards as one to instill the values and traditions of the YMCA experience. I posted a few photos on my camp experience.
