There's Wi-Fi that you can connect to just by asking a student to assist you. There is a library. Within the university there's a bar, a church, 4 places to buy food from and a clinic. The Goma lakes are quiet and peaceful. Though fishing isn't allowed but sitting by the lake gives some sort of peaceful feeling. Students undertake a lot of entrepreneurship so you can buy anything as long as you have their phone number. The downside is that there are stairs like crazy and the buildings are really old so one has difficult time accessing the internet at certain areas in the school.

I had one of my most memorable intellectually stimulating experiences, between 2003 and 2007, when I was an undergraduate student in the School of Natural Sciences. I also crossed paths with some of the smartest and intelligent people I know.
Overall great environment, competent lecturers and strong support structures. However, most infrastructure is old and has degraded over the years.

It's offers academic excellence for all students regardless of their nationality, color, race, gender, sex, even different abled groups of people. Consequently, it has been ranked 18th position in Africa. It's the highest learning institution in Zambia. The University of Zambia (UNZA). Even so it's not perfect it only needs to improve in offering efficient customer service in some of the processes like screening for BC, the dissemination of information to students especially notices and how to handle and deal with emergencies issues within the institution.....

I hope to see full time funding and less politics so that we can attract international students. Some serious reforms are needed at all levels of the University and less political power in charge of the university such as ministerial powers to close down the university. We need a council of individuals to vote and decide when to close it for whatever reasons. Politicians have turned this great place into a circus

Indeed it's Zambia's highest institute of learning. A short visit to this University makes you smarter obviously because of its main entrance serenity. In my opinion, it's ranked top because of the manner in which it operates, that is, everything that relates to learning happens very fast thus every well performing UNZA students thinks at that speed. It's not 'slow bt sure' rather it's 'fast bt sure'.
