This is my favourite hobby after work, I love axe throwing, but BATL is the safest place to do it. They have the most experienced coaches and almost every one of my birthday or staff parties are held at one of their venues, it's a great idea for a night out with just about any of your friend groups!

I visited BATL Axe two weeks ago with a large group for a friend's birthday party. One of our instructors Frank was very unprofessional and unpleasant to have around which ruined the experience for many people in our group. I also didn't appreciate the unnecessary swearing throughout the evening by various staff members. I didn't think it was possible to make axe throwing a terrible time but BATL certainly achieved that.

Great space! This is a great place to go with a group for a party, or special occassion, or just a fun outing- the BATL staff are friendly and inclusive of everyone, excited about their sport, and incredibly helpful. Since moving from their old location in the Stirling lofts, BATL took the WALL to keep an heirloom record of all past champions. Tonnes and tonnes of parking, wheelchair accessible, gender neutral washrooms, reasonable beer and soda prices, VERY reasonable axe-throwing prices.

This batl location is really nice. Throwing in ac is one of the blessings this location has.. But a few other pros are, the staff are friendly as hell, it's accessable for limited mobility, it also has other games like foozeball and arcade style games. It's close to McDonalds(which also sometimes a con? Lmao) AND there is no shortage in PARKING.

The axe throwing itself is a lot of fun. However, the staff that they have supervising each lane are intrusive if not outright rude. It reminded me of being in a classroom, having interactions with my friends modulated by a teacher's presence. All of the staff also swore a lot, which came across as very unprofessional. I would not go back. Overpriced with average to poor service. Better off throwing axes in your backyard.

The location was amazing (clean, organized, fun). It was my first time. I went with a group from work. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They kept giving me tips and correcting me along the way. I recommend for anyone who wants to try. See photo s attached.

While the place and the concept is awesome, the people working at the venue are very dry. There was a small issue with our group and the person in charge flared up for no reason. It was super disappointing to see such poor level of service.
I'd definitely recommend this place, but if the management is reading this review, I'd strongly suggest you speak to your staff and give them a few lessons in customer service and how to resolve conflicts.

I celebrated my birthday here and it was great! The staff were awesome - kind, funny and made it seem like we were hanging with friends. You can tell they love their jobs! This location in particular is fantastic with a fully licensed bar, arcade games, pool tables, etc.

I went on a saturday evening never having thrown an axe before. All the staff were great especially Ashley. She was an amazing teacher and very hilarious.

By the end of the session I was actually throwing pretty well. The time flew by very fast and I can't wait to go back again!

This was a great experience. Did it for a date night. We walked in, and we're a little worried. We signed in at the bar, got a drink, and then went to meet our instructor Dan. Dan was very patient and helpful in teaching us what to do. After several warm up throws, we had a round-robin. Then an elimination tournament.

We walked in, unsure and left wanting more. We will be back in the future.

As far as I'm concerned this is the ONLY place to throw. My husband and I threw once for an event and we instantly signed up for the league. That was a year ago and now I can't imagine life without it. The staff are amazing and the crowd they bring are equally phenomenal. Playing here is the highlight of my week.

Overall a fun time, but with a group extremely expensive ($55/person). They do a round robin and playoffs. With a 40 person group and four lanes rented, only 8 people went to playoffs which seemed low. Works out to about $1 per axe throw, which is pretty steep. Drop in rates may be different.

I was part of a group that walked in. There weren't many patrons so we got 2 lanes. The staff provided instruction/guide for most of the hour. We didn't do a competition among us. We just took turns practising for hour so it was only slightly fun, not exciting. I wasn't a skilled participant. Axe throwing is not easy but it was nice to try. There's a bar, foosball table, pool table, a stage and a basketball arcade game here. The facility is spacious but it was a bit difficult to locate.

Fantastic experience. Father and I went for an hour to see what it was all about and the staff was friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. Special shoutout to our coach who guided us and had us landing throws in no time. Easiest recommendation I've had in all of 2019.

Went for a company fun night out. There was 15 of us and I thoughted we would be cramped but there was enough space for everyone around the targets. Coaches were great, we had plenty of time to practice. Everyone enjoyed the tournament. Overall would highly recommend for a group event.

Was one of the events at a pretty badass bachelorette party. We got to bring our own beer and had our own area in which to throw. The instructor was fantastic and came up with all sorts of games for us to play that made it more than just throwing axes. There was free street parking near the facility and overall it was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend for a fun group event.

A great place to hang out with friends - and you can bring your own food and booze! The instructors were friendly and gave great tips on how to get the ax to stick. I envisioned a dark dreary place but it turned out to be quite spacious and bright with high ceilings and lots of room to throw and practice.

Jacob Gordon-Silvia is my real name for checking purpose. I had an awesome time. Really enjoyed it. Brandon helped a lot, and I would 100% recommend it. A few "adult" words were said (as other reviews mention), but all is in good spirits. Very friendly and helpful staff.

My laboratory booked an evening here, and we weren't sure what it'd be like before we came. Needless to say, everyone had a lovely time absolutely slaughtering our wooden targets. The staff were professional and friendly, and our coach Clinton was so enthusiastic and helpful -- please give him a free beer! Also, whoever controls the music at this location has impeccable taste.

Went here for a party with some friends.

The staff were helpful in teaching us how to throw properly, and after a few practice rounds they put on a small tournament.

Overall a casual, fun, and interesting experience.
