Coffee - excellent, food - great, staff - engaging and upbeat. Came for music and the environment is Wonderful! As a jazz/music venue it is a great blessing to the area. Never just stopped in for a coffee but I can say that their espresso is great, much better than St**b***s. That to say my experience was at a music event and so how your experience might be just dropping in for a coffee ms may differ - not that the quality of the coffee our food will be any less but the overall experience. I normally like this coffee shop, but I always check their website to make sure there are no events going on before I go. Last night I checked the website, and there were no events listed. After driving all the way there (it's not close for me), they were closed for a private event. If you're going to have an events section on your website, people should be able to rely on it. Very frustrating!
The atmosphere and the customer service is awesome. The food is homemade and tastes great. Try their quiche, you'll love it. For a coffee shop they have a great variety including a good beer and wine selection.
My first time in Take Five. I was impressed with the service, coffee roast is great (no oxidized Folgers here, perfect!), their roast local to downtown, local pastries....but the other part was according to Elli they have a chef in-house that makes quiches, prepares their food a such. Very impressed with the first trip....but consistency is key...lets see if they keep it up. Medium coffee = $5.36...a little high. Bacon egg and cheese sandwich = $6.50....too high for me. But looking at it as a whole....nearly $12.00 for breakfast...I would say that needs to be whittled down a bit, even for Overland Park money.
