I was a little apprehensive given it is a hotel with a night club and casino. There were few staff to check in, nevertheless friendly. No noise. I do like good toiletries, and I d give 2/5 as they are not impressive.
They lose a star mainly because there are no good views as all the buildings around the hotel are higher - besides the spire.

Nice room but was filthy under the beds when we moved them for the kids. Also the bed sheets never got changed when we had requested and they just made the bed with the old stained sheets from my daughter slight spillage from nappy.
Other than that very handy to the city and relaxing environment

For $380 I was very disappointed with the room, there was thick dust on top of shower head, black down the inside of the door, dust along back of couch, there was horrible orange mouldy marks inside fridge & the extra $25 for water view was unfair as you looked out to top of burnt convention ctr. The manager was very good & gave another room, also offered a $100 for dinner at one of their restaurants but they were fully booked till 9pm,so she deducted off the bill.Grand deluxe room was not what I thought it would be.
Tried to email you 4 times Ruth but this email address is not valid

There are so many things about this property that warrant a 5-star rating, but in truth there are also plenty of reasons this hotel could fall to 4- or even 3-star in different categories. We found the staff, from check-in to room servicing, polite and efficient. The location is second to none and the restaurants on site and within only 2 or 3 blocks provide countless options to meet your needs. The room itself has a few wonderful details -like the plate glass window, the coat hangers on the entryway wall, and the see-through lighting between the bathroom and main living area - are all creative uses of space. But the furniture (aside from the bed) in the room is cheap and worn. The particle board coffee table and the university dorm-room desk and nightstands are issues that should be addressed for a hotel in this price range. But those issues are small in comparison to the balance of our stay, which was easy, comfortable, and well situated in the heart of the city.

What a huge social space. It's totally chaotic here. There's very few wayfinding signs. The entrance staff are really helpful.
Yet, I ask this:
What is the public benefit to this behemoth? Is it just a huge entertainment and gambling Centre?
Don't all of the profits leave New Zealand?

Arrived after 12am & was blown away with the host responsibilty policy, rigid & law abiding. Allowing only 1 drink per hour & being asked to drink a large glass of water in front of the barman before being able to buy another drink. Great to have an outside area to sit with heating, but once the heaters were turned off it got quite cold, when we asked if they could be turned back on we were told that it couldn't happen until the next shift staff came on which was in another 2 hours or so, that seemed rediculous, so we had to move inside & didn't stay for long after that. One of the ladies rest rooms floor was flooded & did not appear to be attended to promptly, but there was another which was fine. :)

Erh, we got a view onto another ceiling. Despite that, the rooms were clean, tidy, and service from the staff was good. It is right next to the orbit dining restaurant, which is convenient. The casinos were great, and the parking easily accessible. The furnishing of the hotel was very nice. Albeit, the prices were quite expensive, but understandable.

I have stayed here twice now, large rooms, hot sauna, luxurious spa and my fave Spanish wine and tapas bar across the road, plus it's centrally located and you get a decent night's sleep. The view of the hotel across the road isnt too scenic but with so much else the hotel offers, you won't notice.

They don't tell you about the 200 dollar bond so that's over 450 for 1 night for a pokey small little room, they upgraded us but we couldn't see what was upgraded, the staff weren't nice, the photos don't show how small the room and bath is. Overall it was a huge let down. Won't be coming back

The desk staff was over and above excellent. The room was outstanding and the view from the 19th floor was outstanding. The mini bar selections were so great and included the best Sauvignon Blanc I've ever had. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was the perfect pressure and temperature. If I'm ever a billionaire I'm just moving in.

Good hotel! I had a nice large room with modern furniture and a big bed but the fridge was so loud it was kind of annoying... The hotel staff was okay but not the friendliest I have seen... The price was pretty high, so you a lot of older people and/or families.
