Usually I really like Rudy's but this most recent time I went the service left much to be desired. The waitress we had was not especially friendly and seemed to find everything we said questionable which I didnt really understand since I felt we were pretty straight forward. In any case the food is always great here so it didnt ruin the dinner.

Went here on a recommendation and I was not disappointed! We got a Pollo Verde burrito and an enchilada 3 ways special. To be honest, I was sold at the drinks and the salsa, but the food was amazing. Perfect amount of spice in the salsa, great mix of craft/Mexican beers, and there were some great tequila cocktails. Got here early for weekend lunch and service was impeccable despite a dining room that filled up while we ate. Asked my wife when we could go back before we even finished. Kid friendly to boot.

I ordered through DoorDash and found really good BBQ here, though I don't claim to be an expert. Just a guy who likes to eat. Lean brisket was a tad dry but they offer a moist version that may fix that. Turkey had really good flavor, was juicy and the coleslaw was made just right. Loved the bread, pickles, and onions that came with it to make sandwhiches!! That was the best part. :)

I m really sorry to say this but imo this is way overpriced mediocre food. If you like your taco and potato skins to have a full head of iceberg lettuce in it though, definitely go here. You will be satisfied. I think thats probably the only way one could be happy eating here. :/

LOVE Rudy's! I have been coming here since high school, including through my transition, in my twenties, to a more health-conscious, organic/fresh-whenever-possible diet, and Rudy's is still exceeding expectations. Something I don't hear mentioned in reviews very often, (and it's probably because people are so focused on talking about the incredible yumminess of the food), is that most, if not all ingredients they use in their foods and cocktails, are now locally sourced; (and all are fresh). I usually go for the California burger, juicy and fresh with perfect guacamole , sprouts, and monterey jack. Even if you're not health-conscious, however, you can still pig out (and remain blissfully ignorant of the fact that fresh/locally sourced always tastes better than processed/GMO). Waffle fries are incredible, salsa is perfect hotness..oh, and they will make pretty much anything the way you like it, no questions asked. Customer service is always no matter how busy. I have honestly never had to wait or want for anything here. And FYI, I am excessively particular about my food, and could take or leave the whole dining out experience, most of the time. It is beyond me how anyone can rate this place less than five stars. Rudy's is the neighborhood restaurant version of the lover who always pulls it off, and never disappoints. Y'all know what I'm talking about ;)

Rudy's is amazing!!! Best margaritas of anywhere I've been, and I've had a lot of margaritas over the years. Queso is superb and the food is great. It's tex-mex so not traditional Mexican food, but it's delicious. And the staff is amazing too, super friendly and attentive.

Rudy's is a West Somerville staple. If you are making the trek to the David Sq area, definitely consider going a bit farther to Teele Sq to get some great Tex Mex from Rudy's. It's been around forever, the food is great, prices are reasonable, and service is always the best. Try a Caliente Margarita with the Super Nachos and Mexican Pizza (with taco chicken).

If you would like tacos whose ingredients are straight out of the grocery store without any garnish or spices... this is the place.

My tacos included poorly cooked strip streak, shredded lettuce from a bag, diced tomatoes from a can... And a dollop of sour cream.

Will not return.

The food was good but the service was nearly non existent. One guy for the whole bar and restaurant means no menus until we ask for them. We ordered drinks and didn't get them til 20 minutes later. Grandpa ordered the beef and barley soup of the day and got black bean soup instead. With no warning! He literally tried it and said this is not beef and barley. They apologized for not updating the soup of the day menu but they didn't even inform us they were bringing him a different meal! What if there was an allergy? He is sensitive to spice for medical reasons and couldn't eat the soup. Unacceptable behavior and unheard of service.

Cheap Tex mex food. They really skimp on meat and fillings for the food - everything is just tortillas and lettuce. They charged us 16.99 for fish tacos that we literally had a hard time finding any fish on. There are 5-7 better Mexican places nearby - honestly any burrito joint is better. Also it s a little dingy inside - hope I don t get sick...stay away.
