Very close quarters restaurant. If you are closterphopic don't go. They only have one tiny tiny restroom for this place. I can truthfully say, it is the smallest restroom I have ever been in. I don't know how this is allowable for state law requires that you have a handicapped restroom. Also, if you use a wheelchair, or walker forget going here. The walkways are very narrow and everyone is standing in them since they are so over crowded. When we were called to go back to our table the people wouldn't move to even let us get by. My husband got behind giving the front hostess glasses that some one had left. He also walks with a cane. The waitress just left us behind. Six of us went here we ordered 5 appetizer escargot orders since only 5 tiny snails are per order, we ordered 4 king crab plates and two prime rib. We had no alcohol. The prime ribs are deceving they have very large bones and alot of fat. The crab was ok, but drawn butter had too much oil added. The rice pilaf was horrible and rice was hard. The service was excellent. Our ticket for six people totalled over $700. O0!
We nearlly fell over. Looking at the ticket the crab dinners they were over $75.00 a plate. Unbelievable!! Not worth it. We figured our ticket woyld be $400 to $500...Last time the crab plate was $45.00 .per plate. We won't be back....

I'm saddened and disappointed with the current state of Captain Jack's. This used to be a very nice cozy place with great food. I sadly have tot say that the food was mediocre at best. The owners seems to value turning a profit over giving their customers the best, as the quality of the ingredients, and the food itself have gove very down hill. The only redeeming quality is the excellent staff, they are very kind and accommodating. They are the only reason someone would enjoy their meal here, because the food and current atmosphere are not.

I have been coming here for years. Great small Buisness that helps the community so much. It discusses me to see people talk about great food but to expensive and gives bad reviews for the price. You ever heard you get what you pay for? My wife s family come to visit us every year from NorCal and only talk about coming here.. best seafood you will find hands down. But please make a reservation try to hit happy hour it s great.

Food is always great there and has been for years.. Truly disappointed in the service we got in the lounge... 1 girl 20 tables equals bad service.. Wait time was supposed to be 30 minutes.. True wait time on a Saturday night without reservations is over 2 hours.. Decided on the appetizers in the lounge.. Bad choice

Okay this place is not cheap. However I took the love of my life and we both had beautiful meals and excellent service! I had the filet mignon with lobster. I never ordered this out. I am so glad that I did. The escargot is legendary and for good reason. Everybody should go here at least one time if they love seafood. More often if possible.

Even though Jack Hayley & his elder son have gone to their reward, RIP, Tim Haylely has taken the riens of head of the Hayley Clan & runs Captain Jacks just as it always has been run as one of the finist restaurant in S. California. 5 stars everytime. Maybe I can talk him into starting up the kite contest again. Its teams from all the other stake houses compete for the grand prize, the best team of employees, therefore the best team of employees to serve you. It's cheap, have a whole lotta fun & is a super marketing tool.. rod (rj) Muni Thanks TIM, I truly appreciate your effort & timely response...

Omg, I cannot say enough good things about this place. The service is beyond compare! The food is absolutely delicious. The only downfall is there's never enough room in the stomach as much as I try to make there be more room. Took the kids ages 17 and 14 and they were astounded by the size of the crab legs. Most other places you go you'll pay 25 to $35 a pound for skinny scrawny anorexic crab legs. For the money this is definitely worth it.

Fabulous fresh seafood. Rustic atmosphere. Large portions, share with dinner partner. Parking can be a challenge, use Valet, usually across the street. Lobster is delicious in season, best on the coast! Service is good, many are attentive. Have had an occasional grumpy server, wonder why they're in the business. we reflect it in our tip.

Rating this place was difficult only because I enjoy the people I typically go here with and the food is good. That's the extent of good things to say about this place. I've always been the type of person that if you're service and/or ambiance is awful, I don't care how good your food is I won't want to return. We had reservations the other night for dinner to celebrate my Mom's birthday. Our party all arrived by the reservation time, but we were told our table wasn't ready, so we sat in the bar to visit and wait for our table. We saw group after group being told their table was ready, but not our group. We had someone from our group ask the host and were told they didn't realize our group had all arrived and were ready (even though multiple people from our group had checked to say we were ready for our table). They finally sat us after about an hour and 15mins after our reservation and we didn't receive our dinners until 2hrs after our reservations. While some of the staff were great and personable there were also a couple of the staff that were rude when clearing our table making it obvious that they were annoyed that it was difficult to reach
around us to clear the table. Left with a really bad impression of the place and would never recommend to anyone based on our experience (unless maybe you got the food to go, but who wants to do that with a prime rib).

We don't eat at places like this often but wanted to eat somewhere special for my birthday. The crab legs and baked potatoes were delicious. The New York strip was terrible. We ordered it medium, it came out very well done so we nicely asked to have it fixed. It then came out rare but decided to try it anyway, it had no flavor and was very chewy and tough. Outback makes better steaks if that tells you anything. We told them we still weren't happy, our situation was ignored and received no apology or offer of something else. You can tell there are a lot of regulars in the restaurant and we were ignored and not treated as well as them. I am disappointed so we won't be coming back and won't be recommending to anyone. It is also very noisy and couldn't hear my husband talk, we were going to have a dessert but I couldn't stand the noise anymore. Very uncomfortable. I wish our money was spent elsewhere on my birthday.

One of the only restaurants I am willing to pay top dollar for. If I could give more stars I would. Food, ambiance, drinks, and service are all top notch and they have consistantly been this way for many many years. Kudos to this place for always never letting me down. Love love love Captain Jacks!!!

Lousy parking No Room in the restaurant to move Around Rude valet parking Over price menu And the food quality was poor Also the restaurant smelled like urine Can you have to check your bill cause they love to overcharge people Definitely not a great experience Good luck on trying to park your car Or get to your car after you have left That restaurant is unprofessional And poorly managed Definitely not worth the money they charge for food and drinks

Come hungry because you'll never have a bad meal here. The king crab legs are legendary paired with a healthy sized prime rib. Definitely a go to destination. The wait staff was friendly and we're quick to offer a recommendation and what to pair it with. The inside environment is fun and laid back. There isn't a bad seat in the house and they have a lounge area you can wait it while your table is being prepared.

King crab legs were fantastic!! They already slice the crab leg open on one side for an easier dig for the scrumptious crab meat.
I would definitely ask for the salad dressing on the side if you don't like your salad drenched with dressing. Great service by The Team!

I Love this restaurant! Top quality and service here always! Please order the crab legs platter! You get approx. 5 super large very tender crab legs. It's sooo good. You also must order the prime rib... Its 2" thick and very tasty and tender. Old school style, relaxed atmosphere, with excellence in your dining experience.
