Just absolutely shocking ! Massive amounts of deductions with no real explanations. staff who couldn't care less. The next time I get offered a role and I the only option is to go with orange genie I would actually turn the role down!

If only I could give 0 stars - Some of the mistakes I have seen so far (3 weeks in) include:

- Wrong tax codes (it was correct the week before)
- Wrong payment amounts
- Charging me (employee) the admin costs that should be charged to the company.
- Putting through multiple weeks pay as 1 week so that I get taxed heavily, then making the same mistake when correcting it.
- Putting wrong dates on payslips,
- Not including holiday pay accrual

- Getting my hourly wage wrong.
I could go on.

For a company that does HR and payroll their inability to do either HR or payroll is beyond belief. Avoid like the plague!! You have been warned!

Just called them about a so called over payment they have made in 2017 first I heard of this over payment was back end of 2019 via a debt collectors.
Shocking going to put a complainant in as I am sure I do not even owe the money.

As others have said fees are outrages

Candice Crowford has been incredibly helpful. Any queries I have are responded to so quickly. She's even helped me sort out my tax when this got confused!

Worst place. Do not use , no after care. No contact.. Saying they made a over payment in 2017 just found out with a debt letter come on its 2020 Jan. How do I know what you paid me then 0 star.

My dealings with Orange Genie were only brief but during that time I was made to feel very valued and cared for, particularly by my contract relationship manager Sam who throughout was honest, organised and transparent. I highly recommend them.

Never have a problem with this umbrella company. Concise, confident answers from people who talk to you like a person and not a number.

Being new to contracting can be very scary however I must admit the Genie team were super helpful. After going through all the details I decided I d be much better off financially setting up my own limited company. My accountant Beverley was so helpful and friendly. The whole team in fact have been absolutely amazing and I m so glad I made the jump to contacting and going Limited. Great service.Great company.Great team.

Max's phone call solved a query and problem I was not able to satisfy from other sources - he was able to inform a solution and explain the background - much appreciated!

for 2 years they ran my company accounts okish, but as soon I wanted to leave and wind up the company as entered permanent employment not a fooking thing, after 3 months they still have not done the final accounts so that I can pay the final CT and payout the remaining balance as I always kept a good level of funding the the company accounts in case of illness or lack of work. I would highly recommend not using them ever.

To be fair this is not a bad payroll company gave them a really bad review last time actually not there fault for non payment half the time it's down to agency's not processing time sheets and that after that one time incident all my payments were made on time

DO NOT USE. A company set up by sharks and cowboys. Late & underpaid payments constantly while using this service. Horrific customer standards and service.

If your agency trys to put you thru this company. Politely decline and ask them to go elsewhere . Nothing but hassle trying to get paid . I Would point blank refuse to be put thru this umbrella company again .The 15 pound admin fee is the least of your worries, Dick turpin had the decency to wear a mask

Do not trust these people, they rarely reply to emails and it's impossible to leave once you get involved as they don't seem to reply to any contact made. AVOID.

When I registered with Orange Genie I was new to contracting and they helped me to understand how things work. The customer service was excellent - everyone was very knowledgable and helpful.

Great on the phone manners and call time, able to be spoken to and listened to as a real person.

Absolutely rubbish client service and they seems to have wrong payroll system which overcharges without any reason!! Had multiple issues with pay and tax deductions which was deducted by them but not paid to HMRC! Have communicated with them via email and phone but they dont do anything!! In sensibe words, Orange Genie is an unprofessional nonsense company which should be legally held responsible for doing unethical works. We'll be taking legal actions to claim our money back which Orange should have been paying in the first place! The people work there are extremely incompitent and unhelpful who can never be trusted! We regret to choose Orange as an umbrella company!!

Highly efficient company that provides plenty of updates as to how your pay is being processed.

Really good customer service skills, whoever I speak to they re always very helpful and are happy to explain my pay as sometimes the calculations can be confusing!

When I went back to PAYE, they failed to close my accounts properly and didn't finish doing my self assessments. They admitted to failing to do a proper handover but refused to offer me any kind of compensation. My accountant was a nice guy, but they are used to dealing with much bigger, more complex and wealthier companies. They don't give a cr*p about small guys.

Don't bother raising an official complaint, you'll just get fobbed off. Do yourself, take the time to find an accountant who can take the time to actually explain things properly and also, won't charge you the earth to do very little work. Absolute rip off.

The team at Orange Genie always helpful, and their portal tool is very useful for maintaining the books, all for a decent price.

Absolute scam artists. Overtime pay forget about it they will have system issues they say give two payslips charge you twice the admin fees and then upon refund then tax you again which makes no sense. Avoid if you can.

As an umbrella company Orange Genie are totally incompetent. They regularly make accounting mistakes and then blame it on their employees. Their customer service is non-existent. Stay well clear.

I strongly recommend this company to you as your Umbrella Company in London if you are working at school as a teacher or a teaching assistant or in a different working environment. Their excellent customer service is second to none. Even if you have a different Umbrella company at present remember you can ask your company to switch for them, contact them and they will arrange the details.

Thema has been absolutely fantastic when it comes to looking after my contractors.
Goes that extra mile for me and always replies very quickly if there is ever a concern or issue which i can say is a very rare occurrence.

Dreadful, payment day never consistent. My partner also uses OG, due to incompetence we are have no money paid. I've got to wait till Monday by partner a three day wait. Stay way clear! Orange Genie will be losing two customers this week!

Ideal company if you enjoy not getting paid, waiting for ages for them to sort out admin issues and daylight robbery. Honestly the shocking things they have done to my colleagues and I are endless but the most recent is them "forgetting" to pay us overtime, when they finally did they took their admin fee twice. Not being able to plan your expenses because it's a weekly Russian roulette as to whether they'll actually manage to pay you the correct amount, on the correct day, to the correct recipient is just unacceptable.

Very disappointed with the level of service when I decided to leave them and go to a different accountant. They offered to half my monthly fee when I asked to leave. Continued with them for two months but they continued to take the full amount from my account. After contacting them, they said I should change my bank STO but no one from Orange Genie contacted me to say they are still receiving the full amount and no offer of a refund until I asked. Now two months after leaving them they keep sending me E-mails for unpaid invoices I do not owe them. Spoke with them several times but still unresolved very frustrating company really would not recommend them to anyone. Update 18/07/2016 Just received another mail chasing payment after been told the issue has been resolved. Contacted again and was told the issue has now been sorted and as a matter of good will they will cancel the outstanding balance and stop further E-mails. Fingers crossed this will be the end of the matter. will keep you posted.

Beware!!! Not a good experience. Constantly overcharging me & making me lose money. I have probably overpaid about 100 in NI due to their incompetence. (Which I can't claim back)
I have constantly had to chase up their errors which has cost me money.
Better off with PAYE.

I have no issues with Orange Genie s service. I ve always found them helpful. I ve always been paid on time.

Very, very disappointed with the level of customer service especially when I tried to contact them and explain a situation. The gentleman on the phone was rude, sarcastic and would not listen to me and continued to talk over me. Really could not recommend this company.

Terrible service, impossible to get an email reply from them and even on the phone they keep you waiting for a disrespectful amount of time.

UPDATING THIS from 1 to 3 stars. Even though I had left Orange Genie, they sent me an email, the email suggested I was eligible for furlough. My current umbrella company did not give me any such heads up, in fact the last they told me was I was not eligible. So thanks to Orange Genie I realized I could apply and my current umbrella how now confirmed me as eligible.

So they wanted me to use their online expense tool for chargeable expenses (which had 3 bugs so doesn't work). They wouldn't accept the xls and receipts that i'd already sent to Harvey Nash, they wanted me to one by one reproduce everything I had already done for Harvey Nash with their tool, including post codes for cab trips (I kid you not). Anyway I left and instantly found another umbrella who said "Harvey Nash can just send us what you sent them and we'll just upload it" exactly, that's how most umbrella's work. Not Orange Genie, they want YOU to do all of this as they're too lazy.

Very helpful staff. I dealt with Elliot and Adam Miller, and both of them were extremely professional in both their excellent telephone manner and clear details for the questions I asked.
I would personaly premote both these guys to too management positions instantly! They certainly have the perfect attitude!
I can highly recommend Orange Genie as a business too!

Too much automation forgetting that Accountancy should be human based.
They rely on auto-generated reports and email templates, which does leave me frustrated that have to check and resolve issues. Another.. notification auto-generated.. please log into porral.

The team at OrangeGenie are a wonderful group of people and treat contractors with a personal touch. You get the feeling that their main focus is to keep their contractors happy by providing excellent customer service. They also provide support if they feel you need to move from Umbrella to Limited which is nice to see.

I've had a terrible experience with Orange Genie and would not recommend them at all. I've found them quite rude on the phone, the pay calculations are confusing and they take a huge profit. You don't get any where near what you expect to be paid.

Terrible service. They still owe me money! Would not recommend.

They were ok while I was working with them although there were sometimes unexplained delays in payment. The real problem has been after I left. I was due to receive a back payment which they held on to for weeks and I had to chase repeatedly.Every time I rang I had to speak to someone new and explain everything all over again, they would deny all knowledge.

I have know tried to opt out of the pension in order to get a refund of the small pension deduction from the back payment and they tried to tell me I was late and outside the 30 day period. The pension provider has confirmed I am well in time - sheer incompetence.

rubbish- avoid- no support given with regards to any problems that you may encounter, but happy enough to take the money!!

Just finalised my first years accounts through Genie Accountancy. Nothing was too much trouble for my accountant, she was really patient with my "silly questions" and took the time to explain everything. Right from forming my company I have felt like I am in very safe hands, they have made everything easy and the advice has been spot on. Would be happy to recommend them to anyone thinking of starting their own company.

Warning! This company is a toxic mix of abject incompetence and vindictiveness. In my experience of them, over the years, they made many, many mistakes with no payments, underpayments and overpayments. Customer support is a joke. There wasn't a single assignment, of mine, they were involved with that didn't feature missed payments, overpayments and underpayments. Their accounting is so chaotic and customer service so ghastly that it is difficult to assertain what is going on. They may be dreadful at providing the service they advertise but they are very, very good at persistently chasing people through courts and paying for expensive barristers.

Christine was very helpful and polite and explained everything to me. Looking forward to working with them :)

Having considered starting up my own Limited Company, Orange Genie provided a wealth of insight and support during the whole process. Their contractor accountants were always on hand.

No much of help at all, just got the feeling that the buck gets passed the whole time. The case was escalated to the Operations manager and a week later still no reply of any sort. Extremely arrogant when asked to speak to operations manager but no work done to solve the problem. a massive shame on you RATING will be given after the 1st conversation with the Operations manager (One start might not be the final posting might increase - Pending)

Awful awful awful, do not use these guys, the amount of late payments and hours i have spent on the phone chasing them up and the customer service of being hung up on and them not claiming any responsibility for their issue is appalling, by far the worst umbrella company i have ever worked with. If you speak with Dean, i advise you hang up immediately

Poor, invoices not sent, difficulty getting through on the phone to resolve issues. Not someone we would partner with again.

BEWARE..!
Worst I have ever come across and left after 3 weeks.
Never gave me the full details and glossed over everything.
They are full off self hype.
Bombard you with marketing.
Never respond to emails or resolve questions you ask.
Never again.
Avoid at all costs.
There are a lot better companies out there.
