I visited this bookshop while on a cross-country road trip with my family. My granddad actually grew up in La Grande, so while he was showing us around, I spotted Looking Glass Books and just had to go in! It was such an adorable, quaint shop, with a great selection of books, friendly staff, awesome Frank Sinatra music playing over the radio, and even a super cute store kitten! I definitely recommend this bookstore and wish I lived on the west coast so I could visit it whenever. :)
My wife and I stopped in here, by chance, on our way through town. Between the fireplace, couch, children's area, resident cat, and friendly staff I'd say this is my ideal book store. There are very few like this. This store and the new library should make La Grande proud.
Love this local book store. I don't live in the area anymore but order from them every Christmas, and have always been pleasantly surprised by the amount and quality of new and used titles they have on hand. Highly recommended.
