Keith Zars Pools built our pool 18 years ago. We continue to use them for regular service as well as weekly chemical and cleaning service. They have always been responsive and their service people are always friendly and professional.

Someday I will be able to afford. Best of all pools.

I am so very disappointed as well with the response and follow up we have so far received. We did not receive a follow up call to my initial reaching out as promised, and so far we have been stood up waiting for a salesperson to come out twice now to measure and get our property survey. A neighbor had one built last year and we read so many positive things as well. I am disappointed we weren t important enough either for any follow thru. That s a shame... we were able to pay cash for the build.

Idk about there work on pools or anything like that, but if there quality of work reflects anyway on how they drive on the highway I would consider them to be reckless and irresponsible! Cutting my wife off at 75mph while hauling a dirty trailer throwing rocks all over the highway and chipping my windshield... poor housekeeping on TRUCK 626 could lead to accidents and damage to other vehicles on the road like my freshly new chip in the window! Thanks Keith Zars pool your low quality in employees has cost me a new windshield....

Andrew came out and repaired a leaky valve in no time, really knew his stuff. Professional, capable and did a great job!! Many thanks! Just had JR out to fix electrical put in new pool light bulb - excellent work, professional and really knew his stuff! Really appreciate it!

I would rate a zero if I could. I asked for a quote on a pool fountain renovation. An individual took measurements and quoted prices. I sent pictures and asked for final quote so we could proceed. After sending 2 emails and a text that went unanswered (10 days later) I emailed Keith Zars. His response via email offered no apologies and no concerns in regards to my customer experience. I felt my small $20K project was not a priority from him. Horrible response time and horrible customer experience. I've moved on and 2 days later have a new Company.

It felt like we were profiled by this company and the rep who came out decided we weren't worth his time. Thus, he missed out on a large pool contract simply because he decided not communicate or follow up. Perhaps he assumed we weren't going to spend enough; I can only assume since he sent us one design and then never responded when I told him I wasn't comfortable going to the design center during this time. I asked him for a quote and if there were other options to which he never replied. Instead we chose Pool Concepts by Pete Ordaz l, and we couldn't be happier with the understanding and excellence in service they have provided. I'm truly disappointed with this company, as I had heard good things about them before, but that was absolutely not our experience.

They're very responsive and personable. Everyone I worked with was very polite. Highly recommended.

Our experience with Keith Zars Pools has been nothing but OUTSTANDING from initial contact through the very end.

Wes Richter was always there through the process, ready to answer any questions we had and was very quick to respond when we did have questions.

It was his sales style and the way he explained things at the initial contact that ultimately led us to choose Keith Zars as our pool builder.

Bardhi was also very attentive when it came to answering our questions and explaining the process as it went along. He went the extra mile whenever we had a question about how something was being done.

Everything went well during the construction phase and it was always so exciting to come home and see what they had accomplished that day.

They were able to come through the fence at the back of the house. We were going to wait until the early spring of this year to start so that way we could enjoy it as summer started and not just let it sit until the weather started to warm up. After talking to Wes, we decided to just go ahead and start it in the fall knowing we weren't going to really be swimming in it for a few months after completion. I am so glad we started when we did. It turned out beautiful. We love it. About a week after they finished the pool our subdivision started building houses right behind ours and that access would have been blocked. So, everything turned out great and we would definitely recommend Keith Zars to anyone looking to build a pool. We have fired up the Spa a few times and really enjoyed it. The kids can't wait for the weather to warm up some more so that we can really use the pool.

We have the life style protection plan, that started with the new pool, and can be renewed annually, so issues/ repairs are quickly fixed. They have been great. The plan gets too expensive after about 6 years though, so you really have to want to pay to keep it. (LIFESTYLE PROTECTION PLAN)

The Keith Zars company was very unprofessional. I requested a pool bid and had the WORST EXPERIENCE. After several phone calls, text messages and emails I was finally contacted back. I was told I would have a bid back in two weeks and it took over two months. The sales rep was not upfront about pricing etc. I chose to go with Blue Haven pools who has provided excellent customer service.

I work with Keith Zars Pools on a regular basis as one of their vendors/contractors. I have only had great experiences working with them. From our initial pre production meetings to our final delivery (especially working with their staff) we have always seen their true professionalism, expertise and above all courteous and friendly attitudes. It is truly a pleasure working with office, sales staff and crew leaders.

I am happy with Keith Zars particularly with Ray our service guy.

Zars installed our custom inground pool over 25 years ago. We have replaced the pump and Polaris a couple of times over that period but the pool structure itself is still in excellent shape. We have not resurfaced the pool to this point but we will need to soon.

I had a great experience with my Keith Zars Pool build in San Antonio. Kent Ely was my sales rep and was extremely responsive at all stages of the build. Clint was excellent as an onsite supervisor and kept me informed and educated throughout the process. Elizabeth did a great job of guiding me through the material selections. All of KZP staff onsite were professional and kept an eye out for any issues or deficiencies at every stage. I highly recommend using Keith Zars Pools.

Great pre-sales and show room. Outlandish pricing. 30-40% more than the competition.

More on the cleaning service side of things...pool was green, baskets were not emptied, pool was not backwashed on most visits. Called once to see if they would reprimand, girl on the phone said she would send someone out to fix which never happened. I let it slide, then after the last visit same story...baskets full, green...etc. Called and canceled today

I didn't buy anything from Keith Zars, but I would if given the opportunity in the future.

They came out and looked at my house. Stated I could put a pool in the backyard, but it would be tiny, expensive, and told me isn't probably be unhappy in the end.

I appreciated that they were more interested in me being happy at the end rather than simply making some money.

Would recommend them for their honesty and professionalism.

The pool service I do not know about. The driver of truck number 419 seemed like he had to be somewhere and it didn't care who he had to pass going about 75 in a 45 on Judson road. He cut off me and two others just to run a red light.

Learn how to drive. Your company truck almost ran me off the damn highway.

If you want a pool to last years with the best design and structural integrity, then this is your pool company. Someone may do it cheaper, but they'll subcontract out the work and you really don't know what you'll be getting, with no guarantees. Plus, you'll love the huge showroom and design center!

Keith Zars Pools is like family. Going back into the work field after having my daughter and staying home for almost a year was so much easier than I thought. And that is due to the people I work with daily. Everyone here loves what they do and you can see it when we make our customers our number one priority. Had excellent service until 3 years ago (pool installed 7 years ago). Since then it takes multiple calls to get a technician to service the pool. I pay the annual maintenance fees, and they keep rising, however, the level of service continues to decline. They are contractually obligated to service the pool every quarter. They do not leave any paperwork, so I never know if or when the pool is serviced.
I am happy with the pool, the service after the sale is poor. Agree with previous post that their customer service is lacking.

KZP built my pool 20 years ago and I have no complaints. My pool has a deep end and diving board, which now needs to be replaced. Totally understandable. I contacted them on Feb 2, 2021 and a gentleman came out to look at the pool. I paid the invoice for the service call and received an estimate via email from Steve Amos on Feb 6, 2021. I contacted him by phone and asked him if he could research for a cheaper board (one that had a max weight of 300lbs instead of 400lbs.) He told me he would look into it over the weekend and get back to me in the early part of the week. That was over 6 weeks ago. To make a long story short, today is April 13, 2021, and after now 2 months and my sending several emails and leaving multiple voicemails, I have NEVER heard back from Mr. Amos. I specifically told him I had to have a board by May 25, 2021, for my granddaughter s birthday pool party. He left for a 2 week vacation and couldn t have been bothered to follow up with me. This is the most pathetic customer service I have ever experienced.

We had a cocktail pool installed by KZP and the pool turned out fantastic. We got quotes from 2 other pool companies and while KZP was the higher, they were also the only ones willing to work with our custom design. They use top quality materials and offered a huge selection of pool fittings/finishes. Kent Ely in sales was easy to work with and was pressure free at making the sale. Bill Sturgis was our site supervisor, we didn't see him very often but was very responsive to email, phone calls, or text messages. Elizabeth, in the design department, was fun to work with while we picked color scheme and tiles. They had a very small space to work with and they did what they had to do to make it work. I would recommend KZP to anyone.

We bought a house that has a Keith Zars pool. We had their lifestyle protection plan transferred over to us when we purchased the house. Best decision ever! Their technicians know their stuff, and if anything goes wrong they fix it or replace it. Never had a warranty plan anywhere for anything that was this good.

We have put in three pools in our other homes and our experience with Keith Zars has truly been the best! From the initial consultation visit to the last drop of water in the gorgeous pool Keith Zars has been a class act. We opted to take out the extended warranty and it is an awesome deal and opportunity. Today, on our quarterly visit and maintenance, Roger was outstanding. We own our own retail business and understand and enforce customer service; the staff at Keith Zars are class acts. If I had to come up with a negative comment I don't think I possibly could. Great product, great service, great staff Keith Zars is the complete deal!

From Sales to Construction to Maintenance KZP does a great job! We appreciated that all construction vehicles had KZP name on the vehicles so it was easy to identify them. You could tell the crews have worked together a long time as several crews sang songs together or just chattered with each other. Seemed to help the work move quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up as they left each day and the Superintendent visited frequently. Beautiful results and we love our new pool!

We decided to use KZP to clean the pool, since we have never owned one. The first cleaner we were assigned arrived weekly at the same time, and that's the best thing about them. For ~8 weeks he never vacuumed the pool, but he would mark he had. When I finally contacted Service, I was told by a manager that the Cleaner told her he had vacuumed and that I stood there and watched him. Called the Superintendent who sent guys from his crew to vacuum and they found ~8 weeks worth of debris in the vacuum filter which proved the Cleaner lied.
KZP assigned a new Cleaner, who speaks little English and can't answer my questions. Needless to say, we will not be using their cleaning service after our contract is up. Their cleaning service is also much more expensive than others in the area.

great pool designs... they have 5 working Pools to show materials and designs

This company fixed a leak to the plumbing fixtures on a pool and provided a 90 day warranty, now the leak is still there and this company is insisting that I pay them to fix an issue Or to even look at it and should have been fixed and is still under the 90 day warranty. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy

We are very excited to start using our Kieth Zar's pool this summer. They turned our backyard into our dream. Tony came out an answered all our questions on the initial visit and measured everything in our backyard, including trees. Came back the next week with an outstanding design on paper and 3-D model on the computer that made it come to life. We had some delays and struggles with HOA, but knowing the Zar's was in our corner and doing all the work to get everything approved, we had no worries. Work was completed on schedule, even with weather delays. John and Toby walked us through and answered all our questions along the whole build process. We are also know we can still call with any more questions we have along the way, even though the job is complete.

I had a vision of what I wanted in a pool and after sharing a few ideas with Kent Ely he came back with a rendering that blew it out of the water. Kent expedited every request and was extremely helpful (even with issues outside of his scope of work). I can't say enough positive things about Keith Zars Pools and each and every crew member that participated in helping realize my dream of an outdoor oasis. A pool is an expensive investment, my hat goes off to Kent and his crew for delivering on every end.

This company has been terrible to work with. We needed a new filter. Joe first said on a Tuesday that it would be done by that Friday. Friday came and left. Monday we called and they said Thursday. Thursday came and went. Friday we called and they said Monday. Now ... Joe has told us that the filter was in need of replacement and could burst at any moment and drain the pool. 2 weeks later it got replaced.
Joe had said the damage was from the freezing weather in Texas. I asked him to let me know when he was replacing it so I could take pictures and report it to the insurance company. Joe came and went with nothing said to me. We called multiple times and no one ever called back.
Horrible service. Horrible processes. Ol man Keith should be ashamed at what his company has become.

Few companies offer the customer service we receive from Keith Zar's personnel - from customer service to repair and quick response, they are the best in every area! I'm not sure how a company can respond so quickly and be so outstanding, but Keith Zar's company is the best in every way.

If it were possible, I'd give them 6 stars. They just completed our new pool and from the first contact to the last, they were the most professional and genuine pool company I've ever done business with. This is the 3rd pool we have had built in the last 30 years but the first to be built by Keith Zars. At our age, it will likely be the last but if not, you can bet I will use them. The other two pool companies couldn't hold a candle next to this company. They asked for no money up front. A very telling and good sign of a reputable and solid company. They never once lied to us or made flimsy excuses about anything. Our construction superintendent was John and he was absolutely the most concerned individual I've every done business with. Every single crew that did work here was very knowledgeable about their particular specialty and always courteous. I do not have a single complaint about the process, the company or any of their employees. I want to personally thank Mr. Zars, John and every employee we had contact with. A truly enjoyable experience.

We began looking around for pool builders in April 2019. We went to KZP first. We were placed in a room that had sales associates number of sales and goals. It was a bit awkward. We were quickly moved to the "Spurs" room and met with our designer's assistant. Apparently, our designer was filming Pool Kings, but the assistant would tell him exactly what we wanted. She scheduled an in home visit with the designer and wrote down our budget and what we wanted for our pool. The designer, Paul, came out and measured, talked to us about their company and said he would give us a quote in 7-10 days. 2 weeks went by and we heard nothing. So we called him and emailed him. He responded and scheduled a sit down to go over the plans the following week. So at this point, it was 3 weeks from when the designer came to our house until we finally received a view of the design and price. During the "reveal" our house was put up on a big screen TV with a gorgeous pool and all of the extras we wanted. He knew our budget was $100,000 and not any more. After talking up his design and playing the video for us, we ask the price. He said $127,000. What a waste of TIME! First, he gave us double the square footage of what we wanted for our patio space after we were specific on how big we wanted the patio to be. Then, he had a metal staircase for the steps to the slide, when we said we wanted a natural moss rock look. Nothing we said we wanted was incorporated into the design that was given to us. On top of that, he said it would be THREE MONTHS before excavation would begin. We asked for revisions and he said he would get back to us. In the meantime we had already shopped around and went with another pool builder. 2 weeks later (so at this point 5 weeks from meeting the designer at KZP and excavation had begun with our other pool builder) we get a revision. It STILL had the metal staircase but smaller decking. We told him no, we went with another company. At this point he tells us how sorry we would be to go with this company because only KZP could build a slide/waterfall/grotto like we wanted. But yet, they couldn't even give us a design we loved!? After hanging up, he then texted and called us back asking to give them another chance. Why wasn't he this quick to call us when he was designing our pool? Needless to say, we are VERY happy we went with Blue Haven Pools. It took 11 weeks from dig to dive and we received EVERYTHING we wanted and more with our budget. And design only took TWO DAYS to get to us. A completely different experience. KZP really has lost touch with their customers. Believe me, there are other pool companies that will pay attention to what you want and produce a product in a reasonable time. We couldn't be happier with our new pool from the other company!

I live in Olmos Park and can attest to the fact that their drivers drive like idiots and the Company could care less.

We've had our Keith Zars pool for almost 15 years and subscribe to their pool owner protection plan. They are GREAT!

E.G.: their maintenance person found a problem with the heater and ordered its replacement before I discovered it, all at no additional cost to me.

The neighbor behind me was putting in a pool. Keith Zar took down 3 sections of my fence and drove their HEAVY equipment in my yard without my permission. I had not been contacted by homeowner and Keith Zar told me the homeowner stated they asked me which did not happen. The homeowner stated Keith Zar Pools should have contacted me. It was a he said she said situation. In the process of digging my neighbor s pools they proceeded to drop rocks and gravel in my yard and play scape area. Not once asking if they could clean up my yard from all the debris from the construction. I tried several times to call and figure out how I was going to be compensated for the yard destruction and my fence being down for weeks. The project manager just kept saying I was on the punch list and the project was not over. Well it has been over a year and no contact. I just think they have no regards for homeowners around their projects.

BEST vendor we have worked with during our home building process. Thoroughly professional, punctual, extremely clear and detailed, and the end product has been wow! We could not have chosen a better team to build our amazing pool that we had a very specific vision of and they truly made it come to life. They have set the bar very high for sure!

I had my pool built by them and have been using their service for the last 8 years. The serving has been going downhill. Last week I scheduled two basic service, change out pool light and breakdown of pool filter, both could have been done in less than 1.5 hours. The technician refused to change bulb and only did filter. So I contacted them, and no explanation given, so they sent me another tech, and charged me for a two hour service call, after I already paid for the one hour. I got charged $330 for a light bulb change and DE filter cleaning. Completely outrageous! Do not use them if you value your money and time. There are better pool companies. I will never use them again!!

Keith, Charles, and the entire Keith Zars Pools team are just top notch. They are the best pool builders in Texas and I highly recommend them to anyone. They bring the highest level of quality within the industry and are true to their word.

Recently had seals replaced. Hourly costs had gone up but was well done. For 19 years, I used Zars pools for service. I've had several issues but I was able to get resolved.

The seals replacement was charged to my credit card and that's ok, but another Zar's customers charges were charged to my credit card. Had I not checked my statement, I wouldn't had seen a double the original charge.

I called my credit card company to dispute the charges. Then I contacted Zars to complain. They admitted to the mistake. Then a week later, I get harassing calls saying they needed to recharge my card because my credit company disputed the charge.

After talking with their manager and referring them to contact my credit card company, they agreed again that it was their mistake.

Check your charges.

This is our 2nd pool experience with Keith Zars. This is week 7. We were told itd be 6-8 weeks. We were just informed that it ll be another 3 weeks until completion. Nobody showed up for about 3 weeks! Customer service sucks this time around. Apparently too many pools were sold in 2 months...which is no reason for the customer to suffer. Nobody called to update us. We had to reach out twice by phone and once by email. Nobody responded to the email!

Very disappointed. The delay has caused a big inconvenience. We had plans for family to come visit based on when the pool was supposed to be completed!

Have waited over 2 weeks for pool supplies that were paid for on the day of order, but yet no one can seem to find out when the supplies can or will be delivered. Four phone calls made and the same answer....... I will have to check with that department and get back with you. They do not return phone calls or send emails as their automated systems states they will. I will gladly give my money to someone else.

Absolutely love this company. Their showroom is the most amazing facility I have seen in a long time. You can tell Keith Zars is the main builder in San Antonio just by speaking with their design team and seeing the showroom. I would not use anyone else

Keith Zars Pools did my total pool renovation a couple of years ago and it is beautiful. Recently they did some repair work for me. They did a excellent job. Nicole , Mills, Mark, Leo, and James were the best!!! They were professional and so helpful. If you need pool work done or a pool put in I highly recommend them. You will definitely be pleased. *UPDATE*

We are in the process of repairing the failed plaster of our Keith Zars pool. After draining the pool, it seems water leaked from dozens of places through the pool (the little white spots in the photos) this caused water to leak between the layers of plaster and concrete, ultimately weakening the concrete to the point where rusted rebar is exposed in several places (the other photo showing you how water poured out of the space between the plaster and concrete as they removed the brittle failed plaster). This will not be a cheap repair. I certainly recommend you look into vendors other than Keith Zars. The pool is very pretty, but it seems clear that it was built to a very low standard of quality.

Some companies get so large that they no longer care about individual customers. That must be the case with Keith Zars. I just bought a new house in San Antonio. It has a Keith Zars pool. The pool's plaster has failed, and despite a warranty and a service plan maintained by the former owner, it appears that the equipment in the back has several leaks and has been particularly poorly maintained.

I wanted to do some upgrades to the pool, but Keith Zars company was unwilling to send anyone to meet me without paying for a service call. They would not even answer my questions on the leaks without charging for the visit. Sorry, but there are better companies that are more interested in my business than this one; I strongly recommend choosing someone else.

This is the best pool company with very dependable service each week. They respond promptly if there is a problem. They also solved a problem other pool companies could not and did so at a better price. I highly recommend using Keith Zars Pool Company for all of your pool needs.

My husband set an appointment with Paul to have a design consultation at 2 PM. We took off work just to have this consultation and then Paul calls my husband and cancels the appointment. He nor anyone at this company tried to have anyone come to replace him so that we didn t waste time taking off of work. When I called the company they claimed they were un aware of Paul canceling the appointment with us. We have decided to go with another pool builder. If you are having problems just at the design appointment just imagine how many problems you will have during the whole process.

I m only posting this because I feel it s certainly critical that the owner of Keith Zars has a clear understanding of what s going on in his company. I have called two times on separate occasions at least two weeks apart request thing someone call me because I m interest in scheduling an estimate for a pool. Both times I ve been told I ll have someone call you from the sales department and I have yet to receive a phone call or anything from anyone quite disappointment thank you I guess Keith s ours doesn t need any more business

I would recommend Keith Zars pools to anyone. They put together a pool design that was perfect for our house. They were courteous and easy to work with. The work was completed on time and to our satisfaction. It's a great addition to our backyard.

We have had our pool for just over 3 years now and we are still as happy with it and Keith Zars Pools as the day we signed our contract. The design and build phase went smoothly and on the time line that they laid out for us. During the build, we had no "surprises" (extra costs, delays....). Our construction manager was amazing and made sure that we always knew what was next and that we were completely satisfied every step of the way. Definitely sign up for the maintenance package, it gives us great peace of mind knowing that no matter what happens, it will be fixed with one quick call, getting your pool checked and serviced throughout the year is worth every penny!

Very slow response. Any changes to what was presented 8 weeks later causes this process to start again. Did not stay within my stated budget of 65k by 50k (105k proposal). Have not heard back since I asked for reductions (4 weeks ago).

Amazing showroom that fully highlights their amazing pools. Such a great team to work with. They're super professional and friendly. I would highly recommend Keith Zars Pools to anyone!

23July. I still have not received the information I asked for. Maybe would not be an issue if a part number was included on any of the invoices. A simple post of these numbers, in your response, would be sufficient to indicate your customer care objectives...just a thought.
Ok. Here is a follow up. The person i talked to said she did not think she could share that information. You obviously know what part was replaced multiple times...I still have not received the information I asked for. Simple question. What is the part number for the pool and spa light gaskets? Waiting for that customer care you are boasting about.

Keith Z is a reasonable man and is accomodating when you talk with him direct. Unfortunately, his associates not so much. Every year it is costing me a couple hundred dollars to have them replace my pool and spa lights (30 minutes total use before they burn out). After doing this for nearly 10 years i finally decided to replace them myself and cut the cost in half. I asked team kz if they sell the gaskets for the lights, they said no. I asked if the could tell me the model number of the light they installed and i got no response. I can pull the lights to get that data, but a little support from KZ would save me effort. Now they get none if my business. Beware of possible shady tactics. We should not have to call Keith to get simple answers and great customer care...

I watched Abel steal a 2 bags of ice, get caught and smirk about it. The lady told him to pay but he didn't have enough money. Why someone would steal something when your wearing a shirt that has your name and company name is beyond me.

Keith Zars pools went above and beyond my expectations. They were amazing throughout the entire process. Wonderful service and quality. I wouldn t recommend using anyone else!

Thought KZP was an upscale pool builder but all we have experienced is poor follow through. Work orders 2+ years old for our 3 year old pool! KZP new customers are their priority and everyone else goes to the back of the line. Any repair service takes several phone calls to get a job done even though we pay nearly $1000 per year for their Life Style Protection Plan. Poor customer service. Wish we would have known 3 years ago when we had our pool & spa built. We would have gone with another builder. Several neighbors have asked for pool builder referrals. I steered them away from KZP.

They serviced our neighbors pool on a hot Wednesday afternoon. No rain for up to a week prior to the service.

My yard ends up flooded. My neighbor told me they drained water from the pool as part of the service.

Pool company manager states they didn't drain any water and they didn't cause the flooding. Suggests I hire a plumber to look at it.

Has a tech coming back a week later to the pool to confirm they are not responsible.
