Whenever I go i have a wonderful time. The energy inside is so rad and they got lots of stuff to look at. Also the people who work there are helpful and just such cool people, honestly I'm a lil jealous of how cool they are. Please go and support Rainy Day Records when they are open!!

This is a great record store. They sell both new and used, but nicely have the areas separated. I didn't purchase anything used but I did purchase several new records. The selection is great! They have a nice selection of newer stuff along with reissues from the 60's, 70"s, 80's and 90's. Also a nice selection or metal, rock and world music. If you are in Olympia and collect vinyl this place is not to be missed.

Possibly the best place in earth. The only thing I can complain about is 1 (very liberal) worker. I asked him if there was any "Third Eye blind" in stock and he rudely said "No. We don't have third eye blind and we don't have any 90's music." But when I went searching for some Vinyls, I found "Third Eye Blind 20th anniversary." AND "Nevermind" by Nirvana (A 90s band). So yea. Other than that, Rainy Day has a great selection and it smells great there. (The album below is "Unknown Pleasures" by Joy Division)

Great selection, reasonable prices, and knowledgeable staff. I have been here multiple times and can usually find what I am looking for, the few times I haven't been able to find what I wanted the staff was either able to order it for me or point me in the right direction.

Great selection of used & new vinyl, some free vinyl put out in boxes sometimes. Local Olympia culture represented in patches/stickers/cards/postcards/Local artists for sale. Small selection of used DVD & some VHS. Great cassette selection mostly new, some used, and amazing mixed tapes put together by a staff member. Also offer some audio components including turntables.

Rainy day is an Olympia staple, and the staff is so wonderful and helpful. They have ordered in limited release special edition records for me and always at an amazing price. They are going great keeping the community and their staff safe during covid, which is no easy task especially when half the community thinks covid is a joke and behaves accordingly. Thank you for all of your hard work and for doing all that you do!!

Used to love this place. Vibe totally changed since COVID. Everyone working in here seems wayyyyy too uptight now. The micromanaging is a bit extreme for my taste. As a Marine veteran, that s saying a lot. Really did not appreciate being stared at constantly as I was browsing the records. There s better record shops to look at (Tacoma) during the pandemic without this level of uptightness. I don t think I ll visit here again, atleast until the pandemic is over...

Yikes, these were super over priced and not much of a selection at alllll. I'm used to an abu dance of record shops all over the portland/beaverton area with prices from $3-20 and these were $24-35!!! Very little selection. Couldn't find anything I actually would purchase besides a glass animals. If you like to hunt for good records, pick a different shop.

Great record shop in downtown! Great selection too! Vibe is pretty chill and the staff is really helpful.
There is a bigger selection on new records than there is for used, but overall I ve been able to find what I m looking for.
Overall, 9/10 definitely will come back!

I am baffled at this business...they could get more business but their hours dont mesh with the adult working population....who has money to spend...then they close when the smoke comes in because they dont have the intelligence to figure out how to keep their doors closed and still conduct business. Guess we drive to tacoma or shelton to get our vinyls.

Rainy Day is quite possibly one of my favorite places in Downtown Olympia.. the staff is absolutely amazing and the energy is amazing. I have ordered 2 different Album's from them now because they didn't carry them in the store. Got them in time and extremely impressed that they got them for so cheap. James has helped me learn a lot about records being that I am starting my own collection.
