Jonah's restaurant

What can I say about Jonahs which would do it justice? The best time to come to this restaurant is during the day when you can see the fabulous views of Whale beach. Our favourite is breakfast on a sunny Sunday.

We have been lucky to experience jonahs for the past two years and couldn t be more happy each time we go. The rooms are exceptional and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Julia and the team really went out of there way for us this year.

Food was delicious,view is wonderful, only need to improve service a bit more. Never got your guests's glass dry

The wife and I did the Seaplane trip from Rose Bay up to Jonah's Restaurant where we had lunch. The lunch was delicious and all the meals were a decent size. We were lucky to have booked a window seat so we could enjoy the fantastic views too!

The food is of great quality with immaculate service. The view and atmosphere is perfect

The place is lovely and the people are so warm and accommodating. We seated at the al fresco and had the best scenic view of the beach. It gives a calm, relaxed feeling while sipping my hot Mocha. When the food arrived, we were so amazed with the presentation.. it's so beautiful. And much more with the sumptuous taste of Jonah's seafood plate. Fantastic! It's simply one of the best. We will surely come back and recommend the place to our family and friends.

A three hat restaurant that just needs to be rated. Wow! Fine dining at its best. The menu is exquisit heroing local and overseas cuisines complimented by Australian wines. The staff are expertly trained giving detailed analysis and meaning to the dishes along with way wines can enhance the overall pleasure of the Jonah's experience. Weddings I hear are exceptional and need to be booked out years in advance.

We came to the restaurant before lunch and they said no availability and come back at 4:30pm, what we have noticed something...

Until we came back again at 4:20pm and they said the same thing and starred at us. They have some seats but they said no available. There is no reservation in this place and thats what they said. Were very disappointed because we drove from south sydney just to try their food.

I dont know if they discriminate us or they are racist.

Great restaurant with fantastic views over Whale beach! We were there for a wedding of our friends and no other place would be as awesome as this one. The atmosphere was amazing and food was great. We were absolutely happy with the service and would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Jonah's is like no other and my top pick for a special occasion dinner. Stayed for a night with breakfast once and it was highly luxurious. The terrace is perfect for an afternoon cocktail with panoramic views of Whale beach watching sail boats drift by. The worst part of going to Jonah's is leaving

This is an absolutely spectacular location for a breakfast. Their breakfast is a little on the pricey side, but food and service is fantastic and the view is just amazing.

The views are breathtaking. The food is exquisite. The rooms overlook the ocean, allowing for amazing sunrise views. The bathrooms are large with spa baths and monsoon showers. Definitely a must for couples.

Amazing views, amazing food, superb service. The seafood platter for two is quite a treat and the wine selection is mind blowing. Very expensive, but the whole experience makes it worth for those very special occasions.

Celebrated birthday lunch. Service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the view was so lovely. They gave us a special dessert for the birthday and the waiters really looked after us.

Amazing view, top quality service and exceptional food! We stayed here for our wedding night in an ocean room- and absolutely loved it. Roses and champagne on arrival and they made our stay one to remember. Couldn't recommend jonahs highly enough! :)

Lovely staff, beautiful food in one of Sydney's most stunning locations

Had known about Jonah's for years and decided to find out if my preconceived idea that it would be a nice place to visit was realistic. I underestimated. My lady and I flew up from Canberra then from Rose Bay to Pittwater with Sydney Seaplanes. We spent the night at Jonah's before returning to the city the next day. And we loved it. The staff exercised a friendliness rarely seen nowadays, the food was a little too good (over indulged), the accommodation had a view to die for. And it was just plain wonderful. Hope we get the opportunity to it go again.

I've heard so much about this place and now I know why. Wow great food and amazing amazing service. We felt so looked after, the guys were so attentive and friendly and loved the special touch for my husband's birthday message. Thank you we will definitely be back for many more occasions

We were given a breakfast voucher as a present for Christmas. Although they had no space online they were really accommodating and found space for us. We were really lucky with the weather. The restaurant has sweeping views over Whale Beach. The food was excellent and the service incredibly attentive.

We loved the whole experience. Went there by seaplane (amazing experience), taste the full menu with pairing wine.
Everything was delicious (except for the desserts that were mwahh)

My partner and I went and visited Jonah s yesterday and had the three course a la carte menu. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by the guest service agent. The food was impeccable and the service was outstanding. Probably the finest service we have ever received. Everything was just perfect and thank you for looking after us! Definitely recommending this fab restaurant.

Always a favourite place for special occasions, They never disappoint with their food, service level, friendly staff and of course its views and location.

This restaurant has a great location with an interesting menu. Unfortunately the eating experience was let down by a number of things that were individually minor but all added up to a pretty underwhelming experience: 20 minute waits for bar drinks; being seated later than our booking and told we had only 15 minutes to order before the kitchen closed; waiting staff who marched up to the table at the end of the first course to interrupt conversation and ask if everything was 'okay'; faint jazz drowned out by the sound of Kanye West played loudly in the function room next door. These are all things that can be forgiven, but not at a restaurant that professes to be the 'perfect location to escape, relax and indulge'. Good food let down by distinctly average service.

A sydney icon. Excellent food, service & coastal views. Whilst its a bit off the beaten track you won't be disappointed. If the weather permits, come early to have drinks on the balcony. Jonah's also have their own shuttle.

A bit of a let down.
We were given a $600 voucher for Xmas for Jonah's. We called ahead to confirm if we could use some of the voucher for dinner and some for lunch the next day as there's no way two people can eat $600 of food when we aren't big drinkers.

The person I spoke with failed to mention that the max amount regifted back would only be $250 and would be mailed so it's not possible to spend the next day. Which is what we found out at the end of our meal.

The staff are great, very attentive, and kept drinks and water topped up. Excellent service! Given its autumn, there are no views at night which is not their fault but the decor and lighting is very dated and sterile as so many people have posted. Would never come for dinner again as you're paying for the view which doesn't exist at night.

The food. Hmm. We had a 4 course meal which didn't impress. It really felt like they tried too hard and over-complicated the food and the flavours. We are pretty easy to please but some of the dishes my wife would not even finish due to taste. Perhaps we just got unlucky and tried the wrong things on the menu or perhaps the current menu is just a bit off. Other top restaurants in Sydney definitely run rings the food we had at Jonah's.

We'll have to come back to spend the rest our voucher so hopefully have a better experience next time and I can hopefully update this review. Will wait for a few menu updates before we do so.

We had heard such good things and we're excited to come but just can't understand what all the fuss is about.

We ate Jonahs' some time ago. We did not have a whale of a time. The food was overpriced and the restaurant pretentious. The chips were nice. So was the salad.
As for the rest..well..you do not make great food by dressing up ordinary food.

Location and view were fantastic. Service was great. Liked the food a lot but was expecting a bit more from the 'Fruits de Mer'. Tasty but didn't wow. Wine selection was excellent.

We celebrated our 4th anniversary here. The best restaurant in Sydney which I ve tried. We had warmly welcomed by the guest service. The food was tasty and fabulous. The service was outstanding. Spectacular view!

We attended a wedding here. It was really nice, food was really nice, the staff were really helpful and attentive, beautiful view, what more could you ask for?

The food was delicious, and the service was professional. My only criticism is that there wasn't anything really special or particularly creative on the menu. It was all fairly forgettable.

I don't see myself going back.

Beautiful outlook. Went there for an early breakfast and the service was fantastic. Although they seem a little stubborn on options. Mrs wanted a orange juice + champaign and they refused because they were not licenced. If your paying this much for breakfast then I think that's unacceptable.

The new chef has placed this restaurant on another level. Not easy to get to but definitely worth the effort.
