King County Assessor's Office Review

During covid-19 this department did nothing to setup a program to help stop or slow down massive property tax increases on king county residents. This department did nothing to speak with their leadership and explain that raising taxes on avg $250 per month on over 800k owners may be a bad idea in this current situation. You have landlords with no rights, no small claim rights, no eviction rights, businesses being shut down meanwhile publicly held positions are not sharing the burden by putting their bloated salaries on unemployment. Disgraceful

the recorded message was given much to quickly and was anything but clear.

Now normally I would comment on a place or services. But this team of people went above and beyond to help me resolve an issue. And due to all that is going on it was nice to see humanity has not been lost.

Online assessment data is easy to find, is incorporated into a beautiful interactive map, and very detailed. So much better than other counties I've seen in Washington and other states. I use their online parcel viewer all the time.

Automated phone system seems designed to waste time and frustrate customers.

Listen through 5 minutes of automated prompts to get to the department I was trying to reach. Once I got there it said "we are experiencing a high level of calls, please call back at another time"... why not say that upfront if you aren't going to accept calls and why not let someone leave a message to get a call back if they don't have enough agents to pick up live calls.
