Safe neighbourhood. Clean but worn room. Cooked breakfast's undercooked, and took a long time to arrive. Not really geared up for international tourists. Might revisit in the future, but also may try a different hotel instead.

Great vibe , beautiful hotel . Concierge very welcoming especially Rocky and I didn't catch the other gentlemans' name. So glad we found this gem in Memphis.
The staff is so friendly and helpful, they knew our names from the first day and made us feel so welcome. It is a very upscale hotel, from the location just blocks from everything to the rooms and the amenities. The rooms have huge ceilings, very modern decor and bathrooms. Very high end bedding, TV, even your morning coffee is in a real mug.
This was a weekend getaway for my wife and I, so we kinda just splurged. No expense spared for our weekend, and this hotel played right in with our desire to feel like a VIP.
Perfect hotel for couples looking for a upscale getaway!
5 Stars plus! I've stayed here a couple times for business, but I had a business trip/mini vacay for my daughter and friend for fall break. The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make the girls feel welcome and have a fantastic hotel experience. They were super friendly and helpful. Micki, Rocky, and the rest of the staff are phenomenal! Also the hotel is very upscale, the rooms are amazing, restaurant food is on point, and within walking distance to a lot of attractions. HIGHLY Recommend!
Staff was amazing, bar was fantastic, a walk away from anything with a great price. Did i mention staff is absolutely fantastic?
Valet is the only parking option. The room was very comfortable and modern.
Extremely nice and clean hotel, beautiful hotel on inside and outside to, very nice staff, very nice security guards, staff dressed very professionally. I highly recommend it
Always enjoy the convenient location and comfortable accommodations ! Rocky is always helpful !
My stay at Hotel Napoleon was horrible! It was a nightmare! From the customer service to the stay itself! The air was not working in my room! There was numerous of staff that came up to try and fix the air!The air still wasn t WORKING!I checked in on Friday and was being VERY PATIENT! Late Saturday night we was finally move to another room! The room was a double for me and my husband! My reservation was a KING!Making the best of the situation and trying not to ruin our Anniversary trip to Memphis! Only to wake up to my husband BRAND NEW car being hit! Which was Valet PARKED! Very Poor CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE MANAGER PAUL TEDFORD!
I would NEVER Recommend this Hotel!
Not even to my Dog! Book another Hotel and save yourself the HEADACHE!!!!!!!! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME!
The Napoleon is a beautifully restored and kept property just steps from the best of everything in Downtown Memphis. The staff show their appreciation of your business with a sincerity that is rare these days. The room was fantastic and the entire facility was top-notch. I will definitely look for an opportunity to visit Memphis, just so that I can stay here again.
Good location. Only parking available was Valet, but street side parking was available on the night we stayed. Pretty good rooms.
Very friendly and helpful staff,. comfortable room with style!
Ther worse hotel I've ever stayed, the website misleading. No restaurant & bar open at the hotel. Our reservations were wrong we reserved a deluxe 2 queen bed corner suite. We were placed in a regular room no suite, l paid extra for a meal plan and suite no one tried to accommodate us. No housekeeping service what so ever, had l known l would never have booked a room we had to purchase sanitizer, shower gel and toilet paper from local drugstore. We had to ask for clean towels on a daily basis. They had plenty security but all they did was talk on there phone cursing, and one girl literally stayed in the lobby area her entire shift doing homework and sleeping the entire time. They look like kids with guns on their hips which I'm sure they don't have any weapons training. The lobby is extremely small & it's not close to anything. We visited the Peabody and that's where we will stay if we ever return. They greet you with a smile when you walk in, your offered a nice cold beverage l was really impressed. Stay away from napolean my entire trip was ruined because of my experience with the hotel.
Stayed in a beautiful, spacious corner room with lots of windows. Very nice hotel, accommodations, staff!
Room was clean and big and quiet. Cleaning staff was nice. All other service, aside from bartenders (who were friendly but not skilled) was bad. The desk crew and restaurant service was poor and food orders were extremely slow. Seemed understaffed. At times us and others were standing just waiting on a desk clerk to show up. To top it off the valet service they use, Guardian Consiaege, damaged our truck and the hotel staff refused to help in any way and all but said we caused the damage and were trying to pull a fast one. After a $500 for two days stay.
To be clear I know the valet is a separate company but a little understanding and help from hotel staff in one of the more expensive hotels in the area would have been nice. Instead was treated to the hotel clerk lecturing the valet as to how we might be trying to pull the wool over their eyes. When called on it he dismissively stated, "Oh not talking about you," complete with eye roll. Not hospitality at its finest.
As a follow up... Guardian Consiaege took responsibility to pay for the damage based on the evidence provided. Once complete they get a good review. The hotel staff, however, still treated us like criminals rather than being sympathetic.
The rooms are very nice and sleek looking, my stay was good in all aspects.
Staff was friendly, hotel was close to Beale street, and rooms were well kept and modern.
The location is great however it's the awesome staff that made our stay AMAZING. Everyone was very friendly and went out of there way to accommodate us during our stay. Rocky you are the man . I definitely recommend for a great night
Great hotel, very clean rooms. Papa John's delivers in no time!
Had a nice stay at the centrally located Hotel Napoleon back in April, 2019. The hotel is walking distance to the Civil Rights Museum (must see), minor league baseball park, restaurants, and other attractions. The room was more than adequate, clean and well appointed. The service was terrific, outgiong when needed. Rocky at the desk was exceptionally nice and treated us Bostonians well with characteristic Southern hospitality.
1. Very thin walls. Could hear neighbors very clearly.
2. Air conditioning barely works. Kinda warm in the room.
3. Bed is super low, and has very narrow corners. Hard to get around without bumping your knee.
Very comfortable easy access to everything. Will always use this hotel when I visit memphis. And the staff are very accommodating to your needs.
Nice rooms, friendly staff, all in walking distance of Beale St.
This was going to be our new go-to hotel in Memphis (the staff, room, bar/restaurant, and hotel grounds itself were all fantastic) we really really liked the hotel and room, until upon checkout we found out that our car had been broken into, after being valet parked by the valet service hired by the hotel. The drivers side window was busted out by some thugs in a garage that was supposed to be secured with 24/7 supervision. I understand that the hotel doesn t own the valet service, but the liability was put off on the valet, who then put the issue off on the parking garage. I understand that the hotel staff themself did not park my car, but it was by people that THEY hired. Absolutely infuriating. I know the hotel didn t have anything to do with the break in, and the employee behind the front desk did her best to make us feel better by providing complimentary breakfast, but I still feel like more could have been done. Not only am I out for the room, but also got to pay for a new window for my wife s vehicle, as well as the stuff that was stolen. The hotel needs to figure out something on the parking, because what they re doing isn t working, whether that s hiring a new valet service, figuring out somewhere safer to park vehicles, or whatever. Not only did they break into our vehicle, but they broke into 3 others as well that were hotel guests. Just sucks because I would really like to stay at this hotel again, but won t because of worries about the safety of our vehicle. Frustrating to say the least.
I loved my experience at this boutique/historical hotel. The room was cool and service was nice. We stayed for a Christmas holiday. The place was dead but the staff welcomed us with warm and friendly banter.
I love the modern decor of the place. The staff was courteous and it's in a great downtown location. I had a double bed room. It was spacious enough for my needs. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Short walk to Beal and the Peabody, location, location, location! Service staff was nice but needs work on true hospitality especially in the restaurant. Rooms were clean and well appointed, not a really comfortable bed.
Awesome boutique hotel in downtown Memphis! Built in 1902 with a very modern interior design. The staff was very pleasant and made sure I felt very welcome. The rooms are very clean and modern. Great price and location...10 minute walk to Beale Street. Highly recommended if you're staying in Memphis
Terrible experience at this hotel. Front desk manager extremely rude and unhelpful. DO NOT STAY HERE
Bad staff, rude and way too loud in the rooms! Unfortunately, I can not say good things !!! Never again!!!
Nice room, but sound wasn't blocked well. Great place to enjoy Beale street. Hotel is very nice. I recommend the valet parking. Not cheap, but parking garage closes early and it is the best way around the issue.
This is home away from home!! The Staff treats you like royalty! The Owners are amazing!!! The best location for Small Meetups, Networking and Gatherings with friends, in downtown Memphis!!!
Overall, I think this is truly a 5 Star hotel when looking at the staff, rooms, convenience, cleanliness, modern style, and comfort. However, there were a few things that I m knocking off a star for!
They were out of almost everything I wanted to order! They had no filets, no crown royal, no Malibu, etc.
I was very disappointed in the valet parking! First of all, you can only get your car between 7am-11pm. This is very inconvenient for those that have places to be in the early morning. I had to go get my own car from the parking garage and was still charged for valet parking!
The parking garage was a public garage and not secure at all. I was disappointed when I found out my car was left a block away, in an unsecure public garage, that they were charging me a lot of money for.
Overall, the hotel was fabulous, clean, comfortable, and worth the stay! The staff was super friendly, extra accommodating, and knowledgeable of the area. I do not recommend the valet parking, as you can park for free in that same garage a block away. Chances are, you might have to get it yourself anyways.
Very nice hotel!!! Very clean and modern. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay here again when I visit Memphis.
Room clean!! Rates were great!! No ironing board in the room and had to wait over an hour for one.
Really kind service and awesome aesthetics. The design was really different. The bed was very comfortable, the shower relaxing. Everything was super clean. We had breakfast the next morning at the restaurant. The wraps were delicious and a great value (unexpectedly $10 at a nice hotel!). It was central to our downtown activities, and just a block away from Raifords. We'll be back.
This review is not about the physical hotel but their staff. We drove from Atlanta, Ga to stay here & when we arrived the front desk clerk Ingrid swiped our card & then told us the room was cancelled by the manager. This was May 29th, today is June 12th & we have not gotten our money back. I would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel.
Parking is pricey. Wish we'd had known that upfront
Best staff EVER!!!!..You must stay... location is great . Walking distances to anything. Rocky is the best very helpful. I give him 5 stars
Fantastic hotel in the heart of Memphis. Close to most everything. About three blocks from Beale. Staff was nice.
Rooms were nice, hotel staff was friendly, the vehicle behind us got their windows shattered, and our vehicle was attempted to be broken into as well. The Hotel overcharged my card by $311.00. The staff did absolutely nothing to assist with trying to refund my money, all I was told was to contact my bank. Absolutely terrible service overall and will not be staying with them again. Spend the extra $100 and stay at the Peabody.
Very comfortable and staff are great with recommendations.
Terrible experience. Thin walls, could hear other guests, vacuuming, walking, talking constantly. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. SMS Valet was not around when we got back to hotel at night to take our car. Then SMS Valet called us down to bring our keys an hour after we got back when we were going to bed. Then after it was safely parked by SMS valet, our car got broken in to overnight. The SMS valet company was MIA in the morning when they brought our car to us with broken window and everything strewn all over the place inside the car. They were no help whatsoever. The hotel was not helpful either. we were in the middle of chaos, trying to clean up the huge mess inside our car. we needed a vacuum/broom to get the glass cleaned up, trash bags & tape to cover the broken window since it was @ to rain. We asked for these things and they told us they didn t have any supplies and gave us a spray bottle. Had to ask 3 different times to get any supplies to clean our car well enough to drive it safely. Finally a sweet man from housekeeping helped us on his own, he was never asked by management, we asked him to help us. He brought the necessary supplies and another man to help. We were very thankful for them.
Front desk acted oblivious toward us, they didnt care at all, didn t help or offer any type of assistance, didn t call police. We had to tell them our insurance company wanted an incident report (which front desk assoc said he d never filled out bf), he was almost finished filling it out when his manager came and told him not to give it to us. It was obvious they did not want any part of this issue or any liability. The hotel and SMS valet were no help and did not follow up with us in any way after we left. Will absolutely never stay here again and definitely would not recommend it to anyone and will avoid parking with SMS VALET as well. Hope this doesn t happen to anyone else. The only reason I m leaving a review is to help this not happen to anyone else. Very poor customer service. And we are easy going, not hard to please people. We just wanted them to care and help us clean up our car so we could leave. Awful experience.
Very nice amenities and friendly service from Paul, Genesis, and Shabs at the front desk . Plan to revisit in the near future.
Downtown Memphis - we stayed one night, easily parked on the street for free, directly in front of the hotel. Atmosphere is modern luxury - excellent rooms with all the special touches. Polite and friendly front desk. We accidentally left something in our room several hours after check out, it was waiting for us at the front desk!
I drive past this hotel 4 times a week..and sometimes several times a day. I've never been inside..but I do like what I see! I'm not a gambling man..but..I'll bet that they are absolutely AMAZING !!!
Rocky was the absolute best. We called while passing by and he explained that they were booked and only had 2 rooms left. He let me look at the room first before booking. He was uber awesome. Although this was a little more than we wanted to spend, he was the reason we stayed. Aside from his awesome personality this hotel is walking distance to so many things. Great place to stay while in Memphis.
Nice property, Cool bar, hotel has character. 1902 building recently converted into a hotel.
Wonderful service and great accommodations....will definitely return any time we are in Memphis.
High ceilings in room but that made it really dark at night
This hotel was a great choice. The price was reasonable. The room was great. Very spacious and modern. The little things were considered, such as having six USB plugs for all my devices. The folks working their were very accommodating. I am highly satisfied with my stay and I will stay here again, when in Memphis.
Sink drain was clogged - they said they would tell the cleaning staff - don t you think the cleaning staff has seen this - if not why not- people above us were noisy to the point we left at 1:30 am to get out - tried to call and talk to the manager but he was supposedly always busy and did not return phone call, finally there is no secured parking for the hotel - you have to go down the street and hope for the best - never again
Loved the place. We got a really nice deal in priceline. We were there on 31st and 1st and we did our reservation on 30th afternoon and yet we got it at $150 per night whereas the other places in downtown were well over $200 at such short notice. Beale street was within a few blocks away from this hotel. Parking on the street was as sweet as it gets !! It is free over the weekend and free from 6pm-8am on weekday.
Staff provided excellent service. They were very friendly and helpful. Location is just a few blocks from Beale Street. Very clean and comfortable accommodation.
It was a nice hotel room, very modern. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked nicely. The price you pay is mainly for location. I say this because for around $300 there were some things that could have been done better, like the showers. All in all, I'd stay there again, but not often.
Great stay except for the thermostat being stuck on 71 and flashing all night.
This hotel is close enough to Beale Street but not too close. Any easy quarter mile gets you there and away from the noise. Right near some good restaurants like Rendezvous. Rooms were outstanding. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.
What a great stay! We arrived to friendly and accommodating staff. After check in, we were sat down and shown a map of the area, with key routes and locations highlighted.
Our room was small but comfortable. A gift bag with goodies and a personalized note was waiting for us in our room, which was a nice touch. If I had one criticism it would be that the walls were kind of thin. We heard our neighbor packing up to leave at about 4:30 am on our first night's stay. Mostly, we had a pretty quiet floor so the thin walls weren't a big deal.
Overall, great experience. Definitely a great place to stay based on comfort, location and staff attentiveness. When you check in, be sure to ask Rocky about his dog.
Nice looking hotel, however the walls are very thin. Could hear all traffic outside as well as my neighbors opening and closing their curtains.
Great price for the area. Clean rooms and staff was friendly.
Beautiful hotel. The staff was amazing and my husband & I want to give them kudos where it's due. The only problem that we had was with their valet. They lost our key fob to the car... So as we sat waiting in Memphis, (forgive me but I don't remember all the staff's names), but the lady @ the front desk not only made us feel at home - but also knew that we had just started honeymooning and took care of us while handling other guests and us. She apologized profusely and always feel welcome as well as the evening bartender and Rocky
One of the better hotel experiences we have had in a long time. Rocky treated us like rockstars! Told us where to eat. Spot on. Thanks.
Front desk was very helpful. Had a problem with not being able to adjust AC, but Tech resolved it the next morning. Easy safe walk to Beale Street. Recommend Flight Restaurant just a few blocks away for dinner.
Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of downtown Memphis.
This was a very nice and clean hotel within walking distance to the popular Beale st. The only thing I think it was missing was parking in their garage was an additional fee.
Loved this Hotel. Great location, really nice corner room, great little bar and restaurant inside. Will be staying here every time I'm in Memphis.
Pretty nice restored hotel. Comfortable bed, spacious room, great location, and pleasant staff. Not sure it's worth the inflated price, but there aren't a lot of other good options downtown. Yet.
The worst valet and front desk attendants I've ever seen, the room was ok but not nearly worth the hassle and unprofessionalism, they charged my card for things I didn't use the GM was never available to address my concerns all in all terrible experience I'll never go there again!!!!
Room was nice, front desk was helpful. Didn't see anything about how to order room service in the room. Complimentary drinks in the room fridge. Our room was on the bottom floor so there was some noise from the street during the night.
Great service! Celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and mentioned this on the reservation. We checked in and entered the room to find a bottle of champagne on ice and rose petals on the bed! Way to go above and beyond! Not to mention the hotel is in a great location to enjoy the night life! Thank you Hotel Napoleon staff!
Great location for the St Jude marathon. Great room with a view comfy bed and nice new TV. Very modern design. Hotel staff is beyond friendly.
We had a wonderful stay. Everyone was very friendly. Nice views of downtown and spacious rooms.
Worst Vacation I ever had! The Ceiling linked due to air condition not working. I had to switch rooms because the floor flooded! No onsite maintenance on duty to assist with flooding! My weekend was awful! Nor did I get reimburse for suite as promised!
Excellent hotel, with helpful and friendly staff. Updated, and very clean. Perfect location.
Very friendly service and accommodating staff members.
Clean rooms and common areas makes for a great choice to stay.
Great customer service with friendly and attentive staff.
We had a blast. Room is awesome, bartender amazing, staff is great, Valet parking needs work, but they are hiring a new company!! Yaaay!!!
A nice hotel, would definitely stay again, need to make bar area more exciting but really nice front desk people, (consierge), very helpful
Our experience was excellent. We visited on Thanksgiving, and the attendant David had thoughtfully compiled a list of a list of restaurants open and serving thanksgiving meals! He was friendly and attentive. The hotel was beautiful, and had very clearly posted mask regulations. Overall, it was an excellent visit, and if my wife and I return to Memphis, we would stay there again.
Its ok. A little pricey for what it is. Room service didnt answer several calls for breakfast and I requested a late checkout 1PM vs 11AM and they offered me 11:30 but that was it. The gym is a few dumbells an eliptical and two treadmills. For what you get its spendy in my opinion but its clean.
It's a new hotel. There are some things they can't help (construction on one of the main entrances in). There are things they can help. For instance, the valet parking is odd. Took me a minute to figure out where the stand was and when I pulled up, it wasn't manned. I parked in the garage physically attached to their building only to find out that is not their garage and is only open from 8-8. The room service menu is lacking and only goes until 11pm. The staff has all been super courteous and helpful. The beds and pillows are comfy and the bathrooms are well apportioned.
