Today were here on an excursion. Awesome place, very much. Took an audio guide, one for two, it was audible well (the volume is adjusted from the left).
I did not notice the queues about which I read in other reviews. Just in case, I still advise buying tickets online.

The building and the Faberge works are elegant and breathtaking. We didn't care for the Dali art display. This is a must visit if you're in St Petersburg

This is a Pvt museum of a collection of artwork of the famous Faberge jewelry house. It's housed in Shuvalov palace on the Fontanka river embankment. On display you can see the famed Faberge Easter eggs and exquisite enamel work on cigarette cases ,buckles and dinner ware too.You can pick up replicas from their souvenir store.

A wonderful museum ... But you need to come repeatedly - a lot of beautiful pieces, you can say all the exhibits are unique in beauty .... And there are a lot of them .... Last year and today I decided to go again, it turned out that as if in the first time - again everything is new ... I understood that I must at least once a month and one room for a visit ....

A beautiful museum. Oddly enough, I liked the security. A real mountain man wandered silently through the halls. What is good and what distinguishes these security from the protection of ordinary museums is politeness and unobtrusiveness. It was interesting to watch the guards dressed as visitors, these were the most nervous. The exhibits themselves were of little interest to me. Rather, the atmosphere of the palace attracted, the design of the halls and most of the attention was absorbed by a tired child.

Open late, perfect for an evening visit. Beautiful eggs and interesting background.

A small museum in which Faberge jewelry and other jewelers are presented. These exhibits are presented in incredibly beautiful halls. I advise you to visit.

The museum is located in a restored mansion. Among the exhibits are eggs Faberge, icons, household items made by jewelers, a small collection of paintings by the expressionists. The museum is only 5 years old. The halls are restored and elegant. I would like to see the same well-groomed and the Hermitage.

From the looks of the guards, not at ease. Very much too harsh. It feels like something is to blame for them :) And so, I liked everything.

The museum is worth visiting, but they ask visitors to wear plastic shoes on the top on their own shoes. Like in an airport. Then everyone is walking in these plastic shoes and making noise. It ruins the whole experience. The museum administration could just ask visitors to clean their shoes when they enter.

A very exciting permanent exposition and amazing temporary exhibits! A must to see in the heart of St Petersburg!

Very pleased with the light. Cool! The lighting was organized just fine, in my humble opinion of a layman and inspection turned for me into a real celebration of light, color and perception.

It is worth visiting with a guided tour on your first visit, because, having learned a lot of interesting things from the guide, you will be able to tell your friends about interesting exhibits on your next visit))

Everything is very interesting and beautiful. I think at least once in my life you must, if necessary, visit this museum.

Museum was not big. Historical building fine faberge things and some paintings. I was a bit piste off with staff. I was purchasing 3 adult and one kid tickets. And they didn t sold me child ticket until I drought kid from changing room for them to see that I am not cheating. The difference in price was not much and they check tickets on the entry anyway.

The pictures do not do this Museum Justice, you have to go there and look at the exhibits up-close-and-personal in order to get the full effect. Absolutely incredible and mesmerizing.

Probably the worst museum i have ever been in. Probably because the audio guide was completly useless. Tried getting a real guide but it was not an option in english. Not sure what was Faberge and what was not.

Not to be missed out in your St Petersburg trip

First I thought it s just a small museum with a few easter eggs, until I realised there are thousands of collections of paintings, silver and gold wares etc to be checked out.

Closing at 21:00 means plenty of time to visit elsewhere first during day time before coming here

Wonderful museum. Staff very helpful. I was lucky to go when it was really quiet on 24th December. Just me and the priceless eggs. Bliss.

To see all of these exquisite artworks in one place is amazing. A fantastic collection.

Sublime, a feast for the eyes and a visit during 2h30 to 3h.
The audio guide is worth it for the early parts of the museum. After that, it is very long.

Really enjoyed it. The art exhibition...not so much, but the faberge displays were great.

Highly recommended to visit if you want to as much as begin to understand how rich and ostentatious the imperial family was. The master craft required to create these mechanical wonders... You'll be amazed and you will learn quite a bit of history. Strongly recommend getting a audio guide.

I really like this museum - both a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions. Beautiful palace, beautifully restored. The exposition is organized wisely, well highlighted, everything can be considered. A wonderful excursion with headphones, no noise in the hall, excursions do not shout over each other - as, for example, in the Hermitage. The exhibitions are also wonderful, there is a lot of information about artists, era, etc. The only thing is, I would like more exhibitions - so that one replaces the other, and you could go to the museum often (as in Erartu, for example); there are very long pauses between exhibitions.

Outstanding exhibits (with a special mention for the imperial Easter eggs). I recommend taking a tour or the audio guide to get out the most of it. Exhibits are well explained by the audio guide.

Elegance, sophistication .... Exquisite jewelery and decorative objects of rare beauty. Although it's a museum open for a few years, the history of objects overwhelms you. Temporary exhibitions are very interesting. It is worth mentioning on the list of objectives to visit in St. Petersburg!

Not so many of the Easter eggs are on display (you can see a few more in the Armoury in Moscow), but well worth a visit.

Having the chance to see on display a high concentration of their famed Faberge eggs when u hardly get to see them outside of Russia.. makes this a very very special museum worth a visit. The rest of the other rooms are average so a quick 1 hr max stop is a great thing before u hop off to the canal cruise with a pier right outside the museum.

I don t know what's inside. At the entrance, they offered to put everything out of their pockets. As if I came not to look, but to steal. And they did not scold, but I tried to enter the feeling of being in a village needs. Two stars just for the fact that the house is a monument.

The exposition of 12 original Faberge eggs, the largest number in Russia (although this is a private collection). The Kremlin s Armory 10. There are a large number of Faberge products and enamels, as well as dishes, church utensils and icons.

The visit of this museum is essential not only for the famous eggs but also for the whole of the exposed goldsmithery and the palace sumptuously restored.

It was the first time! I came specially to the exhibition of Frida Kahlo! A little puzzled by the guards. I pre-purchased tickets online, at the entrance imperiously told after going through the frame that the left of the ticket office, I announced that the tickets already exist! In the same tone they said that they should be changed to ordinary, then ran through the beater and said that nothing should be exchanged, in general with the entrance there was some sort of fuss. As a result, I went through my on-line tickets beforehand, they were simply scanned at the entrance to the exhibition. In general, the museum is pleasant! All the decorum and dignified, as befits the palaces!

For the layman, a room with eggs and a room with paintings may be of interest. Aivazovsky's shipwreck looks amazing in reality and drags out the entire exposition. The rest of the halls are walk-through.
At the exit there is a restaurant and a shop with souvenir eggs for 50k.

The halls themselves are the most striking in the museum, and the exposition, alas, is very popular, for such a ticket price a couple of home exhibits are presented on the strength, they generally expected something more ambitious and much more interesting than a couple of eggs of different colors and with a similar ornament. You do not have entire mini cities, no different scenes inside the egg.

An excellent museum with a large exposure. With audio guides, watching is much more interesting.

The museum contains unique exhibits. And this is not only Faberge's famous eggs, but also jewelry, dishes, household items that once belonged to members of the royal family. One of the main museums of St. Petersburg, which is worth a visit.

I do not know about the main collection (probably also good), but Frida was excellent.

Not a big museum, there are several gorgeous eggs, and beautiful crafts. There was no renting guide in a hurry, and it was quite a story to follow the tour guide. It is worth seeing.
