About OMEP
Oregon manufacturers source for growth and prosperity
OMEP: Oregon Manufacturers Source for Growth and Prosperity
OMEP is a non-profit organization that has been serving the manufacturing industry in Oregon since 2002. The organization's mission is to help manufacturers grow and prosper by providing them with the tools, resources, and expertise they need to succeed in today's competitive marketplace.
At OMEP, we understand that manufacturing is the backbone of our economy. It creates jobs, drives innovation, and contributes significantly to our state's GDP. That's why we are committed to supporting manufacturers of all sizes and industries across Oregon.
Our team of experts includes engineers, business consultants, trainers, and coaches who have years of experience working with manufacturers. We offer a wide range of services designed to help businesses improve their operations, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and boost profitability.
One of our core services is Lean Manufacturing training. Our certified trainers work closely with businesses to identify areas where they can streamline their processes and eliminate waste. By implementing Lean principles such as 5S workplace organization or Value Stream Mapping (VSM), companies can achieve significant improvements in productivity while reducing costs.
Another key service we offer is Business Growth Coaching. Our experienced coaches work one-on-one with business owners or managers to develop growth strategies tailored specifically for their company's needs. Whether it's expanding into new markets or developing new products or services - we help businesses identify opportunities for growth and provide them with the support they need to achieve success.
In addition to these core services, OMEP also offers a range of other programs designed to support manufacturers at every stage of their journey:
- Supply Chain Optimization: We help businesses optimize their supply chain by identifying inefficiencies in logistics processes.
- Workforce Development: We provide training programs designed specifically for manufacturing employees.
- Innovation Engineering: We help companies develop new products or improve existing ones through innovation engineering techniques.
- Cybersecurity Services: We offer cybersecurity assessments that identify vulnerabilities within a company’s IT infrastructure.
At OMEP we believe that collaboration is key when it comes to driving growth within the manufacturing industry. That’s why we partner with other organizations such as MEP National Network (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) which provides us access national resources like NIST MEP funding opportunities; universities like OSU College Of Engineering which provides us access research facilities; economic development agencies like Business Oregon which helps us connect clients potential customers; trade associations like AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology which helps us stay up-to-date on industry trends & technologies; etc., so that together we can create an ecosystem where manufacturers thrive!
In conclusion,
OMEP has been helping Oregon-based manufacturers grow since 2002 by providing them with expert advice on how best practices can be implemented within their operations while also offering various programs aimed at improving workforce development skills among employees as well as optimizing supply chains through innovative engineering techniques! With its vast network partnerships across different sectors including academia & government agencies alike – there’s no doubt this non-profit organization will continue playing an integral role towards ensuring prosperity remains synonymous not just locally but nationally too!
